The X Beginning

The air was heavy. Barely anyone made sound as they heard the elevator sliding down to floor level. The cold metal doors opened, everyone's heads had turned to look in that direction they saw a child. A girl, walk out those elevator doors.

Y/n's POV:

The doors opened and I had stepped outside into the huge tunnel they called the waiting room. Some green blob came up to me and gave me a pin.

"Keep this with you at all times during this exam, it's your number." I thanked him and walked over a wall where I sat down hugging my backpack

'Damn, I knew I shouldn't have came so early.' I cursed in my head.

'Number 226 huh?' I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

I felt everyone's eyes gawking at me.

"Is that a little girl?"

"What's a kid doing here?" "Didn't you see? There's another kid here to!" I heard as these whispers continue not paying much attention anymore.

Tonpa's POV~

As soon as I saw that little girl walk out the elevator I knew she was gonna be dead meat by the time this exeam was over. I walked up to her with a big fake smile. "Hey, aren't you a little to young to be taking the hunter's exam?"

Y/n's POV:

I opened my eyes only to find a middle aged man standing in front of me. "No, the age restriction is 12 and older isn't it?" I questioned gazing at him "Ah right!sorry about that I'm just not used to seeing such young rookies," he starts. "Well i'm Tonpa and this is my 35th time taking the hunters exam!"he went on putting his hand out for me to shake.

"I'm Y/n!"I chuckled shaking his hand."Hey if you don't mind me asking,why have you taken the hunters exam so many times?"

"O-oh uh well you know there's always that one phase that I just can't get passed haha." He sweat dropped

'Pfft, pathetic weakling.'

"Well I'm sure you will make it this year Tonpa!" I fakely encouraged

"Thanks, you to Y/n! I'm gonna go take a walk around but here take a juice can! You must be thirsty after traveling here." He babbled quickly putting it into my hands and running off.

'What a weirdo' I thought opening the can, but before I could take a sip I caught a big wif of a terrible stench. 'H-he poisoned it?!' My face filled with confusion. I turn around to sock him in the face but I spot him talking to a group of boys who look around my age, and he was handing them juices!

Gon's Pov:

"Thanks a lot for the juice Tonpa-San!" I said as I opened the can but just before I could take a sip

"Excuse me! Hey, don't drink that juice!" I heard some girl yell as she ran towards us. She looked about my age and she had really pretty hair!

"What's wrong with juice?" Kurapika asked, eyeing Tonpa who was now sweat dropping, trying to leave.

"Well it's just that there is laxitives in it and I didn't want you to get sick right before the exam." she admitted

"Wow thanks a lot! By the way what's your name? I'm Gon it's nice to meet you!"

"I'm Y/n!" She giggled. She smelt really good,Like flowers! We started talking and she ended up sticking around with our group. She and Kurapika talked a lot about smart things.

"Woah that's so interesting how the blood cells signal the rods that transmit to your eye cones to help your eyes change into a rouge color based off emotion!"

'Heh I have no idea what there talking about right now' I sweat dropped staring at them

No one's POV:

The examiner had walked into the room, he had started explaining the 'rules' for the tunnel as he started running. All the applicants had kept a steady pace for the first 4-5 hours, but as time passed so did the applicants.
