Y/n's POV:
"Y/N COME INSIDE HURRY PLEASE!" She runs to my side gripping my wrist to drag me inside
"Ah!"
I enter the small wooden cottage, smells like old lady with vanilla and plants.
"She's right here please tell me you brought something for her?!"
I examine the house then her room, then my grandma herself. She isn't moving, still breathing but barley she looks terrible it's tragic.
"Grandma?" I grab her hand and it's warm
She's burning with a fever
"Give me the small medicine bottle as well as a syringe, she has been poisoned!"
My cousin quickly searches my bad and tosses me the materials I insert the syringe into her arm.
"That should help her fight the poison."
"Thank you so much I thought you were never gonna come!"
"Anything for you guys, I missed you so much Risa." I pulled her into a hug
"I missed you to!"
**Growl**
"Erm do you have any food? It's been a long journey." I laugh
My cousin takes a meal out of the fridge and defrosted it in the oven, I guess she prepared food the day before. When the food is done she serves me a plate.
"Thank you!"
"Of course."
I dig into my food, it was so good!
"So how has it been?"
"Its been a wild-"
*COUGH COUGh COUGH COUGH*
Risa runs to my grandmas room in a panic "She is choking!"
I follow Risa's lead into my grandma's room, she is spazing out with foam coming out of her mouth
"SHIT! GET ME SOME MEDICINE FROM MY BAG!" I direct
"Y... y/n? Is.... Is that you?" She whispered in between coughs
"Yes it's me I'm here to save you!" I feel my eyes tear up, injecting her with the most helpful medicine I have
"Y/n I love you and Risa so much." She squeaked before the foam from her mouth spat out and she became still
"Grandma? GRANDMA?! NONONONONO!" I hold the old women
"OH MY GOD IM CALLING AN ABUNDANCE RIGHT NOW!!"
"DAMMIT!" I curse with tears dripping from my face
The ambulance arrives 30 minutes later carrying my grandma out from my arms and into their pull out bed to see if she still has a chance.
"Y-Y/nnn What's g-g-gunna happen!" Risa cries trying to spit out her words
'Shit...We may be the same age but she still grew up like a normal kid.'
I sigh knowing my role in her life now
"Come here." I grab her by the wrist and pull her into a hug. We fall onto the floor both in sobs, shes having a mental breakdown and gripping my clothes. I listen to her heart ache while trying to be stronger for her, I still let some tears out though.
An hour flies by and the ambulance comes back. Some guy in a Red Cross uniform walks in through the front door with a frown on his face.
"I'm really sorry for your loss."
"WHAT?! NONONO SHE CANT BE GONE!"
"She's gone ms, Im sorry." He apologizes to my cousin
She screams in agony dropping to the floor
I grabbed her and aggressively hugged her
'Dammit.'
"Risa I came to late, it's all my fault." I sob
The trembling girl can't even respond
'This is all my fault.'
"I- I have no one left."
"I'm going to protect you Risa as long as I can, like my life depends on it."
"You a-are?"
"Your the only family I have left, I need to." I force a smile
8 hours later we had already done a burial and ate dinner, it's 10:00 pm now. Everything is silent in this house and I've been thinking non stop how I'm gonna protect her from my mom and brother. How can I protect both of us? How am I gonna provide for her. I have no idea but I have to, I have to do it. She is all alone and I refuse to leave her. She is all I have left, I need to protect Risa.
I bite the inside of my cheek feeling a headache form
*RING RING RING*
My phone vibrates rapidly, I look at the caller ID and smile in relief. I go outside to get some fresh air "Killua."
"Hi Y/n! I miss you."
"I miss you to, so much."
"Gon and I got into greed Island, obviously! We have been exploring around all day and we have been looking for cards all day, I'm so tired. I wish you were here! How was your day by the way? What happened with your grandma." He rambled
"K-Killua she.." I paused "she died.." I feel myself wanting to cry again
"WHAT?! SHIT Y/N IM SO SORRY I SHOULD HAVE LET YOU LEAVE EARLIER!" he curses
"I-it's alright, she was poisoned and reacted badly to the medication I brought her." I whimper
"So what now? Are you coming back?"
"No I can't. I need to stay with Risa she has no one left and I owe that to her."
"Understood. I'll let Gon know your doing good. Stay on guard for any trace of your brother."
I hum in response
'shit is gonna be tough...'
"What is greed island like?" I sniff
"It's super cool and this place is real, we arn't just in a video game this is an actual island on earth, isn't that crazy??"
"Yeah!"
"HEY ALBINO BRAT WHAT ARE YOU DOING BREAK IS OVER!" a girl yells
"HOLD ON!" He barks annoyed "IM ON THE PHONE!"
"Who is that Kil?" I raise a brow
"Our new mentor." He sighs
'She sounds our age no way she can be their mentor-'
"Oh cool, she seems nice haha."
"What? No she-"
"DO 100 RIGHT NOW!"
"HUAH?! OKAY IM COMING YOU HAG!" He screams over the phone
"WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO FOR SO LONG?"
"NON OF YOUR BUSINESS!"
"Ok whatever hang up." Her voice gets closer before the call ends
"What the hell?! Rude!" I growl
I Can feel the rage fill me up, my cheats feels heavy "UGH ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" I punch the closet tree
*CRASH*
'This day sucks. First my grandma now Kil is with some other girl?'
For the next hour I spent being active and train. I can't let the boys get a head of me now can I?
