Y/n's POV~
"You will all grab you cards that will show another contestants badge number. Whoever's number you get means that's our target. You arnt aloud to switch targets but you can avoid your target by getting 3 other people badges. Your and your targets badges are both worth 3 points, but anyone else's is worth one point. You need 6 points to pass and you will be staying on Zevil Island for a week. Please grab a randomly selected card, the first one to grab a badge will be the one who finished the tower first." The examiner explained
The clown looking guy named Hisoka went first. He grabbed his badge and got on the boat. After everyone in the gang got our cards we separated, getting on the ship. I went on the deck just enjoying the breeze for around 5 minutes. It was nice and fairly quite, I just stared at the endless beyond of waters. My head was still healing but because I heal quickly it didn't hurt all that much anymore. I inhaled the sweet and salty scent as I took of my head bandage throwing it away.
"Hey Y/n!"
"Gon?" I whipped my head to my right
"Wanna come sit with Killua and me?"
"Sure."
We walked over and Killua sat In between us. I slouched against the wall of the boat laying my legs flat on the floor. Killua sat with one knee to his chest, arm resting on his knee as Gon sat crisscrossed.
"So... Gon,Y/n who are your targets?"
"Not any of you." Gon claimed
"I haven't checked actually." I sat up
"Well you should!" Gon suggested
I dug through my bag and found the covered up card that had my targets number on it. I unwrapped it starting at the number.
My heart raced and my palms became sweaty as it became hard to breath, my hand trembling a bit and my eyes widened.
'Number 99'
"So who did you get?" Killua asked
"What?! Oh uhm I d-don't know who it is yet cause every-everyone hid there badge numbers!" I blurted
'Stupid stutter!' I pulled the number the my chest so they couldn't see
"You know what? I'm feeling a bit seasick I'll s-see you guys later ok bye!" I said dashing out of there. I ran to Kurapika, he was staying in room downstairs reading.
"Kurapika!" I cried slamming the door open
"Uh- jeeze you scared me!" He flinched
"Well... I am scared!" I confessed as I started hyperventilating
"Woah woah what's going on Y/n?" He ran to me rubbing circles my back
"Killua is my target..." I whispered "I feel so guilty! I cant ambush him, I just can't!"
"Hey it's ok, he did say you could just get 3 other badges." He referred to the examiners rules soothing me
"I know... I know but it's just the fact he's my target that scares me. Like what if he finds out and doesn't trust me anymore?! What is he doesn't talk to me anymore!" I felt annoyed at myself
Kurapika embraced me in a hug and Istiffened cause I'm still not used to physical touch
"Killua would never do that Y/n he likes you a lot! You guys are friends and I'm sure he will understand. It's not like you are gonna try to take his badge right?" He let go to look at me
'Killua and I are friends? Dose this mean kurakipa is my friend to? And Gon and Leorio? I don't even deserve any of them.'
"Yeah I guess your right. Thanks so much Kurapika!" I gave him a short friendly hug
"I'm always here for you when you need me." He smiled
I smiled in return shutting the door.
'Ah god dammit I cried infront of him huh? Gosh I'm so weak it's pathetic.' I wiped my tears as I made my way up stairs
Timeskip~
"Ok everyone can get off the boat now! You may leave in the order you left the tower. Once a person leaves the next may leave 2 minutes after." A nice lady with pink hair told the examinies
An hour later~
"Ok number 226 you can leave now!" She informed starting the timer
"See ya in a week Y/n!" Gon waved
It had been so quiet before that his loud voice shocked me. I gripped Kurapikas shirt out of fright. Killua gave me a 'whats with you?' Look I sighed and let go of Kurapika.
I didn't reply to Gon though, I mean how could I? I was freaking the fuck out and I didnt want Killua to know he was my target.
'Im a traitor. I'm not good enough to stand by them.'
I just walked out, hands gripping into the straps of my bag. I was looking at the floor until I got into the woods.
*WOOSH~*
I sprinted off, as far as I could. It didn't matter where I just needed to cool off.
