THE T-BIRDS (including Cynthia and Stephanie) walked into the pep rally. "So, this is what a pep rally looks like," Potato said as he looked at all the cheerleaders.

"Very nice," Gil mumbled as he swung his arm around Stephanie's shoulder, which she pushed off immediately. "You'll wear my jacket, but I can't put an arm around you?" He asked sarcastically.

Stephanie grinned and started to slip the jacket off, "You can have it back-"

He shook his head roughly. "No, no, no. You keep it. It could get cold tonight."

She smiled and put her hands in her pockets, "I suppose you're right," But she just could let him have a compliment, so she added. "For once."

Richie patted Gil on the back, "Let's go, lover-boy."

Gil rolled his eyes and walked away, leaving Stephanie to go and find Olivia. But before she could even take a step, Jane Facciano was in front of her. "I just wanted to say thank you for everything today. You didn't have to-"

"It's okay, Jane. It was nothing." Stephanie smiled at the girl in front of her. "Do you happen to know where Olivia is?"

Jane nodded, "I was just talking to her." Then she pointed over to where Olivia was sitting on the T-Birds car.

Steph nodded and walked to her best friend, who was reading a book and looking rather sad. "Whatcha reading, bookworm?"

Olivia looked up at Stephanie and closed her book. "Nine Stories."

Stephanie pinched her eyebrows together. "Is that the book's name, or are you really reading nine stories?" She questioned.

Olivia laughed, which was Stephanie's goal, and she smiled. "Both, actually. J.D. Salinger wrote nine short stories and put them into one book."

Stephanie smiled at her nerdy friend. "Well, then he came up with a creative title, didn't he?"

Olivia rolled her eyes and got off the top of the car. "Let's go find a seat."

Stephanie and Olivia sat in the front row, so they could judge the cheerleaders as they screamed and shouted. But they didn't have the chance to be judgy because they were busy watching the girl who had apologized to them. Jane was in the front smiling, and she leaned down on the ground and opened her arms, and that's when the sign behind her that had read: "This Year Rydell Goes All the Way!" changed to "Jane Facciano Goes All The Way!"

Olivia and Stephanie turned to each other with wide eyes. "What bitches." Steph muttered. Olivia nodded in agreement.

But soon, all the attention was taken off Jane and put onto the five idiots behind the mascot costumes. People cheered for who they thought were the typical mascots until they lined up and mooned everyone in the audience, then people started to laugh.

"Put those away!" Ms. McGee cried. "I wanna see those in my office!"

Everything was going fine until Cynthia's mask fell off, and she screamed, "Rydell Rangers are losers! T-Birds rule!"

Then everybody watched as the T-Birds ran away, and Ms. McGee tried to box Cynthia into a corner. And that is what Stephanie thought the worst part of her evening would be, but it only got worse.
