Another Love

Chapter 20

Everyone gathered around, to celebrate, for the victory of the battle, as they danced around the fire, with their hunter sticks.

"Tìyora alu fpi ayoe!" Tonowari shouts, as the others cheer along with them.
Victory is for us.

The children were running around, laughing and playing with one another, whilst some were sat, listening to Tay'ra telling them a story.

"And then, a big wave came right through me!" Tay'ra says dramatically, as she lets out a little gasp. 

"Sister Tay'ra. Were the Tulkuns there with you too?" One of the kids asked.

Tay'ra nods and smiles, "when you do right to Eywa, she will help you in her special way."

Jake stood a couple of feet away, as he stood back and watched Tay'ra with a smile on his face.

"She does that to people" Rawm walks to Jake.

Jake looks towards him.

"She has a way to get everyone to look at her, as though she is magical. Which she is, really. It is a shame she has fallen for a man like you" Rawm says.

Jake laughs, shaking his head as he looks down.

"Tay'ra is a good woman. Do not break her heart again. Magu might have let you go now. But she will remember your name" Rawm says.

Jake nods, looking back at Tay'ra, "I wish to keep her happy for as long as she lives."

"Sister Tay'ra! Sing us a song!" One of them shouts.

"Yes! We want a song!" Another shouts.

They all begin to shout over one another, requesting that she sings them a song.

Tay'ra laughs, "children. Children."

She gets them to become calm again, making them sit down.

"I will sing you a song. Whichever song you wish for me to sing" Tay'ra says.

"We want the song you sang to us last time! For Sister Zo'iles' birthday!" They shout.

"My birthday?" What about my birthday?" Zo'ile asks, as her and Deiya come to sit down, on each side from Tay'ra.

"They want me to sing the song from your birthday" Tay'ra says.

"Ah. They love it when you sing that" Deiya laughs.

Tay'ra smiles and looks at the children, "very well."

She clears her throat, before she begins to sing.

Tay'ra looks up to see Jake, as she sings the last couple of words.

Oel ngati kameie.
I see you (I love you).

The kids cheer and clap, along with Zo'ile and Deiya.

"It is a sweet song, I love it so much!" Zo'ile says.

"It is everyone's favourite" Tay'ra smiles as she looks at her friends.

"I don't think we are the only ones that like it" Deiya points forward with her eyes.

Tay'ra looks forward at Jake again, as she sees him staring back at her.
