CHAPTER 8

"Do you have a problem, Ihstan?"

"It's always the future, Kaldhi."

Kaldi and I were seated in his veranda while watching the moon and stars after the rain. We had some beers of course. Good thing, this was a nice plan to have a friend-time for each other.

We were occupied a lot of times and don't have enough bonding like this that we used to. Being in a Senior year made us realize the importance of education. To achieve and chase the dreams that we wanted in life.

"Don't think too much about the future, Ihstan. I am always telling you that. It will bother you. I swear. Just enjoy your life as a teen." Kaldhi reminded me.

"We were not enjoying anymore, Kaldhi. The battle had already begun."

"How do you say so?"

"Because I am always observing the changes in our existence.... and it saddens me when I started to reminisce the old days. The things that we used to do. That is why I hated collecting our memories sometimes."

"Are you afraid of losing me?"

"Of course. What kind of stupid question is that? I have no friends at all but you and Ritzieh."

"Do you miss the little Kaldhi?" Kaldhi chuckled and began to teased me. "Little Kaldhi did not change, Ihstan. You're being dramatic."

"I was not being dramatic, bastard!" I sounded annoyed. "Common, let's watch a movie." I acted like a kid and walked proceeding to his bed.

Maybe Kaldhi had a point. I was being dramatic. Maybe I just miss him so much that is why my words were like that. Sad.

Kaldhi had a special place in my heart, as well as Ritzieh. He was still helping me to heal from the trauma that I had experience when I witnessed a car accident when I was 14.

"Ihstan." I immediately faced Kaldhi the moment when his voice suddenly changed. "What movie do you want to watch?"
