For Rintarō, the rest of the week went by painfully slowly. The whole week, he hadn't been able to talk to Y/n. And as if the stress that that brought him wasn't enough, he had also been waiting for the grade of his poem in anticipation.
This morning, just before lunch break, Ms. Nakamura had called him up to her desk. She smiled proudly at him as she gave him back his work, this time graded.
"Wow Rintarō, I can tell that you've really put in the effort! Keep up this work and... Well done!"
Rintarō's eyes averted on the mark written above his paper with a thick red marker.
'89% GOOD JOB (^▽^) !!!'
A small smile crept onto Rin's face. He couldn't wait to tell Y/n the good news and see her reaction. Plus, now he'd get to hear her whisper his name in his ear...
Rin glanced at the clock. The bell would ring in approximately thirty minutes, meaning that he and his friends would rapidly have to gather in front of the schoolgate so they could make their way to Atsumu and Osamu's house.
He yawned as the thought of him having to help his friends making their house ready for tonight made him tired already.
"You still holding up?" Rintarō turned at the sound of Aran's voice, who whispered to him while still focused on their teacher.
"Yeah..." Rin dryly chuckled while rubbing away the sleep in his eyes.
"I'm just a little tired." He continued, hearing Aran laugh quietly in response.
"Cheer up, at least you'll be able to shoot your shot with Himara tonight..." Aran smirked, jabbing his friend's arm.
Rintarō immediately froze whilst still rubbing his eye.
Shit...
He completely forgot that he told Aran that he had a crush on Himara... The best friend of his ACTUAL crush...
Rin took a deep breath in and out.
Everything would be fine, as long as Aran was the only one who knew-
"DO YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON HIMARA?!"
great...
Rintarō could feel his heart drop after hearing the familiar voice from behind him whisper yell into his ear.
Both Aran and Rin shared a glance at each other before leaning back into their seats, feeling Atsumu's hair tickle their cheeks as he leaned forward.
"Dude, why didn't you tell me?"
Alright, now was his chance. Now was his chance to come clean, and tell his friends that he in fact did NOT have a crush on Mori Himara.
"Actually, I uhm-"
"Because you can't keep a secret." Aran interfered, interrupting Rin.
"Yes I can?!" Atsumu gasped.
"Guys-" Rintarō tried to butt in.
"No Samu, you can't..." Aran sighed.
"Name one time where I didn't keep a secret of you-" Atsumu scoffed.
"Akari. Sixth grade-"
"Alright that one was on me, I admit that that was wrong of me, but it was an accident~"
"Doesn't make it any better..."
Rintarō was getting more and more anxious as time passed. He wanted to speak up, he really did. But for some reason... he couldn't?
