Deep in thought, Rin had unintentionally picked up his pace. This day dreaming of him was becoming a serious issue...
Why was he walking so fast? Hold on, he never intended on walking so fast- Shit he hadn't even thought about what he was going to say. What was going on? What if-
"Hey."
Fuck...
"Hey~" Rintarō choked out, his voice going up at the end.
Holy shit, this has never happened to him before...
Rin could feel his face heat up when he heard the woman in front of him giggle in response.
"What's up?" She asked, the words smoothly rolling off her tongue.
The sun...
"I uhm- was wondering..." Rin started, accidentally making eye-contact with her.
This is what he was trying to avoid, to make eye-contact. He was already nervous as he could be, and now he was making it harder on himself by looking into her beautiful eyes.
"W-wondering..." He stuttered.
Get yourself together, you're embarrassing yourself...
"You were wondering?" She asked, cocking up an eyebrow while tilting her head to the side in anticipation.
Rintarō took a deep breath before continuing.
"I was wondering if you could help me out with my homework assignment." Rin said, proud of himself as this was the first sentence he didn't mess up.
She groaned and rolled her eyes. "Is Aran selling me out to the entire team now?"
Rin couldn't help but grin. "More or less...?" He shrugged shyly.
"What subject?" She asked him while rummaging through her locker.
"I have to write a poem." Rin answered, relieved she couldn't see his face right now.
She slammed her locker shut and stuffed her backpack with her textbooks.
"Sorry, can't do." She shrugged before walking off.
Rintarō blinked to himself before realizing what had just happened. His brows furrowed in confusion and he quickly turned around, following the girl.
"Wait, why not?" He asked, speed walking behind her, seeing her braided ponytail swing from left to right.
"Because I absolutely suck at writing poems." She answered, still looking ahead of her.
"I don't know who else to ask. If I don't get a sufficient grade, I'll fail this year." He pleaded, trying to read her face as he had finally caught up and started walking next to her.
"Please, I need you." Rintarō begged.
"That's what all guys tell me." She scoffed.
Rin was taken aback by her joke, cause she was joking, right? He couldn't help but snort at what she said, the woman looking up at him from over her shoulder, grinning at her own joke as well.
"I'll pay you..." He trailed off, the woman stopping in her tracks.
"Rintarō, listen I-"
"I'll pay you double what you ask for." He said sternly.
The woman's ears perked up and she turned around, facing Rin.
"Deal." She said, extending her hand, waiting for Rin to shake it.
"Deal." He agreed, taking her hand and shaking it.
Her hand was so soft and small compared to his. He wondered what it would feel around his-
"When is it due?" She asked, retreating her hand before pulling out her phone.
"Monday..." Rin trailed off.
"Damn. So we only got this weekend?" She said after sucking in a deep breath.
"Yea."
"Does tomorrow work for you?" She asked, looking up from her phone.
Rintarō's brows furrowed as he thought.
"Tomorrow is Saturday?" He rather said than asked.
"Yes." She answered.
"I have a practice match tomorrow... Does Sunday work?" He asked sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"No."
Rin had to take a moment to respond, as he didn't know what to answer.
"From the way you were begging me for help just know I was assuming that you desperately needed it."
"I do-"
"Are you implying that this practice match is more important than finishing the assignment that decides whether you pass or fail the year? I don't think so. Starting on an assignment one day before it is due is something you cannot permit. No offence." She quickly added before she continued.
"We all have to make sacrifices to accomplish something. Just like how I have to sacrifice my free Saturday to help your ass." She scoffed, mumbling the last part, still loud enough for Rintarō to hear.
"I'm sorry..." He apologized.
"You don't have to be sorry, you just gotta get your priorities straight. Besides, I have a debate tournament on Sunday." She shrugged.
"You into that?" Rin asked, genuinely surprised.
"Yeah, what about it?" The woman asked, crossing her arms.
"Nothing nothing, you just didn't seem the type." Rintarō answered, putting his hands up in defense.
"Yeah, cause you don't know me."
"I could get to know you." Rin said.
Righttttt. This was the Rintarō he knew. He was back to normal and he was gonna make this girl weak in the knees for him.
The woman amusingly rolled her eyes as she scoffed. "I'll send you the details." She smirked before turning around and walking off.
Wait what?!...
"You don't even have my number!" Rintarō yelled after her.
"Don't need it!" She yelled back, not bothering to look back.
"How will you send me the details then?" He asked, raising his voice more than before.
Rintarō was most definitely in shock. What sane woman would walk away from him like that? Did she not know that this was a lifetime opportunity?
Rin was deep in thought but snapped back as he felt his phone fibrate in his pocket. He fished it out and read the notification out loud.
Pretty_Y/n
Through here.
Nice try tho 😉.
A smirk appeared on his lips as he read the message she had sent him. She was smart though, he had to give her that.
This was going to be a challenge...
