"Bro..."
"Hmm?" Y/n hummed, bringing up her hand to cover her mouth when she felt a yawn come up.
Dark eyebags had made their way to under her eyes as if them being slightly read wasn't bad enough.
She constantly zoned out when Aran spoke to her, as she was too concentrated on making sure her eyes opened back up again after closing them to blink.
"Did you even hear what I just said?" Her brother asked her, a fed up expression on his face.
No...
"Yes?" Y/n let out an awkward laugh in discomfort, refusing to make eye contact with the male walking beside her on outside the pavement.
"What is up with you~" Aran groaned, his grip around the straps of his backpack tightening. "You've been so tired lately..." He mumbled to himself, his words almost inaudible to the girl walking beside him on the inside of the pavement.
The two siblings made their way to school, walking to school instead of one of their parents dropping them off for a change.
"I'm sorry~" Y/n sighed drowsily, rubbing her eyes before dropping her arms to her side.
There was a moment of silence before Aran spoke up again, hesitant as he cautiously turned his head to look at his sister for a brief moment.
"Is it because you're staying up all night studying again?"
"Yea..." Y/n shamefully 'admitted'.
Full truth was, Y/n had been staying up till sunrise everyday for almost an entire week just to talk on the phone with Rintarō.
It wasn't on purpose– time just seemed to flash by whenever she and Rin spent time together.
It started by him calling her for a 'quick question' that would somehow turn into a three-hour phone call session which'd end by one of them falling asleep on the other.
Their exam period had just ended so the amount of schoolwork or studying they had to do was mediocre. Therefore, Rin hadn't been coming over for tutor sessions as much as before.
She guessed that his phone calls were supposed to make up for the sessions they missed out on, but they didn't compare...
Y/n missed sitting next to him on the cushions on her bedroom floor, brushing her leg against his and him not moving away, admiring his features from up close and teasing him.
Gosh Y/n missed teasing Rintarō so much, though he had been the one doing the teasing a lot more lately...
Exam period ending didn't stop Y/n from taking on a shitload of extra work to prepare herself for the next tests, no matter how far away they were.
Normally she'd spent her new free time studying away in her room, but now that being on the phone with Rin became a nightly routine, she squeezed in her study sessions at another time of the day.
She couldn't help it, as if she was programmed to do so...
