Getting out of my car i swiftly made my way into the front office of Crestview High. "Goodmorning." I said looking around. There were a few people in there and there was one lady in particular she looked like a teacher herself.
Making my way to her I spoke "Excuse me, do you know where I can find the principal?" She looked at me and smiled. "I was actually looking for her myself in lost as hell in here. I'm kerry." She said holding out her hand to shake my hand.
Reaching my hand for hers I smiled. "I'm Janet, and so am I. What do you teach?" I asked. "Mathematics how about you?" Nodding I spoke "Hm that's interesting, I teach English and I'm a dance coach." Just as she was about to continue our conversation a man came up to us.
"Hey." He dragged out. "Hello." We both said. "My name is Guero, well professionally Mr.Charles I'll be showing you to your classrooms as soon as I figure out who is who." I smiled at his enthusiasm.
"I'm Kerry, well Ms.Washington professionally." She winked. "And I'm Janet." "And that would be Ms.Jackson professionally right." Guero said making both Kerry and I laugh. "Yes, right."
"Okay follow me."
••••••• After we dropped Kerry off to her classroom it was my turn. So far I knew where the office was, the bathrooms, Kerry's room and the dance studio. Right now we were heading to my classroom where I'd teach English.
"The students are just coming from break, are you prepared to teach?" I nodded and smiled. "Yea I prepped for my first day last month." He laughed making me laugh.
"This is the B block." He said as we banged the curve. My dance room was all the way in the A block but I was fine with that because it wasn't a far walk. "Okay-" I got cut off by a man bumping into me.
"I'm sorry." He said and when I looked up I came face to face with my long time friend from college. "Oh my god, kiesh!?" I said laughing. "Booty, I know this ain't you, how you been girl?" He asked making me giggle. "I've been well, I was just heading to my classroom."
"So you did end up teaching, what about dance?" Smiling i answered "I'm the new dance coach also." "Oh yall know each other." Guero interrupted. "Yes actually." Gil said winning at him. I knew what that meant. "Oh lord." I mumbled making everyone laugh.
"Let's go." And with that I was off to my class.
••••• Sitting at my desk I prepared for my class. I didn't know what to expect but I was prepared for it. I wasn't going to teach today I'll just use this week to get to know them and give them light things.
Sitting at my desk I looked up from my computer seeing the kids walk in. As soon as they all say I heard some mumbling. A few damn she fine and some who is that here and there.
"Good morning, my name is Ms.Jackson and I'm your english teacher. I'm also the new dance coach as I'm sure you've heard." I said letting them all get their commentaries out. Clearing my throat I spoke again.
