My alarm wakes me up. Grabbing my phone groggily, I click my alarm off. I push myself onto my feet, leaving my warm bed. I feel the cold morning air all over my body. I slip my slippers onto my feet. I look at myself in the mirror that I hung up on my second day here.
I grab my hairbrush and untangle the mess that laid on top of my head, simply putting my hair up messily. I'm still in my pajamas, a pair of form fitting gray sweatpants, and a black tank top. I grab my towel and toiletries bag.
Stepping out of my room, I begin to make my way over to the girl's bathroom. It's always a bit of a walk, I look at the ground most of the time there. My mind wanders.
Am I prepared for today? Will the guys have faith in me? Do I even trust them?
This is my first mission with everyone, I want to show them all that I'm actually a good asset to the team. Especially to Ghost, maybe if I prove myself he'd leave me alone.
Soap did say it'll take a while for me to learn to like him, but that's just the problem. Why do I have to be the one to learn? Why can't he just be a normally nice person like everyone else was here? He's the only person that I've had a hard time with, and it doesn't help that he's my superior, so I have to deal with it.
I was so lost in thought I didn't even realize who just walked up to me. I look up, halting, my eyes flickering as I snap back into reality. It's Ghost.
He was already dressed and ready, wearing an all black uniform and his skull balaclava, but this time he has a skull mask on top of it. How does he manage to look even scarier now?
"Morning, Sergeant. Get everything out of your system yesterday, Princess?" He questioned sarcastically, his voice deep and rough.
Wow, that's the first time he's ever actually greeted me. It catches me off guard, but I frown at his sarcasm. I make sure to tell him that.
"You know Lieutenant, that was your first time ever greeting me, which sucks considering I've been here nearly a month now. And stop calling me that." I roll my eyes, pushing past him as I continue to make my way for the bathroom.
He just follows me. This bothers me.
"I'll keep that in mind, Soldier, and no promises." He said, "I actually need to speak to you about today." He went on, but we arrived at the bathroom.
"Well, can it wait? I need to shower." I stated, annoyance in my voice. He didn't say anything. I turn to him, and I catch his eyes looking up from my body, meeting my eyes. This made my face blush slightly. I look away with a frown, pushing the bathroom door open.
"We'll talk later, Sergeant." I hear him say as the door shuts, leaving him behind it.
--
I step out of the bathroom after getting ready, mascara on, my hair down and wet, teeth brushed. After making my way back to my room, I notice someone leaning against my door.
It's Ghost again. God, when I said later, I meant in the common area or something. He must have some sort of thick skull.
He notices me from down the hall, it's an awkward walk up to him.
"Can we talk now?" he asks, standing up from leaning against my door, shifting himself so now his side is pressed against the wall right next to my door knob.
I pull out my key, unlocking my door with one hand. "You'll have to wait, I'm not done yet." I reply, he just nods. I open my door, walking in. He tries to walk in behind me, but I turn around, pushing a hand against his chest, causing him to stop in the doorway. "Hey! I have to get dressed. Unless you wanna be reported, I'd step out now." I try to sound serious.
