A couple days have gone by since that night. My lieutenant, Ghost, hasn't spoken a word to me. I see him around the safe house, but he avoids eye contact. Every time I enter a room that he's in, he just walks out. Everyone else has noticed this too, making me feel even more embarrassed about that night. Maybe it was a mistake.

I was foolish to allow myself to believe anything would ever come between us.

FLASHBACK TO A COUPLE DAYS AGO, THE MORNING AFTER:

I wake up in bed, my head hurting slightly, I can feel my temple's throbbing to the rhythm of my heart. I sit up slowly, realizing this isn't my room.

Oh yeah, I spent the night with Ghost.

I look around the room, analyzing it, he isn't in here. I pull the blanket off of me and notice I'm only in his shirt, I look at the floor right next to the bed, and see my panties. I blush hard, feeling embarrassed. I look over to the door and see my sweater, leggings, and bra all scattered by it.

I place my hands over my face feeling embarrassed and groan out loud. I fall back into bed.

I roll over, placing my hand over the sheets where Ghost was. I genuinely did like being held by him last night. I felt safe in his strong arms. I even fell asleep a lot faster than ever. For the first time in a long time I've actually felt a sense of security and peace. I long for it again.

I figure it's time to get up, so I do. I get out of Ghost's bed and make it, fixing the messed up sheets and blankets. After I'm done, I pick up my clothes and a lip on my underwear and leggings first, then pick up my sweater but it's still a little wet, and stinks of alcohol. The smell makes me gag, almost throwing up. I still feel hungover and the scent of alcohol is not helping.

I decide to just stay in Ghost's shirt for now. I use a hair tie to tie it at the back so it's not down to my knees. I pick up my dirty sweater and slip out of Ghost's room, making my way for mine. I'm interrupted when I hear a door open, I turn around and see the bathroom door opening.

Steam flows out from behind the bathroom door and into the hallway, and I see Soap. He has no shirt on, and only a towel wrapped around his waist. I look at him for a moment, seeing his muscular body. He's nowhere near as muscular as Ghost, but his body is lean and he has abs and broad shoulders. I look up and into his eyes, he spots me as well.

A small smile forms onto his face. "Hey, y/n." He hollers and makes his way over to me. He leaves a trail of water droplets on the wood flooring behind him as he approaches.

I smile back nervously, at least he didn't see me coming out of Ghost's room. "Hi Soap. Good morning." I reply.

"Have fun last night, Lass? I blacked out more so towards the end. Completely off my head!" He says with an embarrassed laugh.

"Oh, yeah. Maybe too much fun." I say sheepishly.

"I can tell. Me and Gaz were the last ones left, partying all by our lonesome because SOMEBODY wanted to steal you away and keep you all for himself." Soap rolls his eyes at the last part, he tries to sound playful but I can tell he's a little upset. Jealous even.

"Oh- yeah...haha, sorry about that." I chirp awkwardly.

"Just a tip, Bonnie." Soap starts, his voice a bit hushed now.

"What's up?" I ask.

"Try to keep it down. I could hear you through the walls all night." He states simply.

My face goes into an instant color change, turning red, all surprised by his bluntness. I couldn't find the words to speak. I just blinked a few times.
