I finish up eating in the cafeteria, the large room filled with army men and women, it's loud, tons of people in their own personal circles and in their own unique conversations, everything seemingly fast-pace here. Today's meal was a circular salisbury steak, some corn, and a brownie square for desert. The food was good, the brownie being the best part. My standards for food was pretty low considering I hadn't eaten in nearly 15 hours. I would have eaten almost anything, I was so hungry.

I stand up and walk over to the trash cans, dumping out my leftover crumbs and scraps into one of the bins and then setting my empty cup and food tray in their designated areas. I see Rudy standing by one of the doorways across the cafeteria. I make my way over to him, a smile on my face as I do.

He spots me as I approach closer, turning his head over to me, a slight smile forming onto his lips. "Y/n." He greets me, "Ready to be shown to your sleeping quarters?" He asks. His accent is thick but his tone is soft, not as energetic and enthusiastic as his counterpart Alejandro. He's more calm and collected.

I like it.

I nod my head and gesture my hand out ahead of me for him to lead the way. "Yes sir, after you."

He just nods without saying a word and turns to make his way down a long hallway. We pass by plenty of rooms in the barracks, many of the doors being open for friends, some even seem to have their own little parties going on. This place reminds me more of my old job in the army. I'm still not too used to being a part of a small anti-terrorism task force, this was always more my speed.

I feel plenty of eyes on me as we make our way down the hallway, and I even make eye contact with a few of the army men we pass. I smile shyly at the ones I happen to meet my eyes with. I feel like new meat or something.

Rudy shows me where the communal showers are here, along with the clinic as we make our way to my room. Once we finally arrive, I notice that I have the room 222.

Angel numbers.

Rudy turns around to face me once more, holding out a key for me. I take it in my hands.

"This is you. If you need anything, ask Ghost where to find me or Alejandro. He knows where our rooms and offices are here. Your belongings have already been brought here from the plane, let me know if anything is missing. Buenas noches , y/n." Rudy holds eye contact with me as he speaks to me, still sounding calm and collected.

"Thank you so much for all your help, Rodolfo." I decide to use his real name, and when I do he smiles. "Goodnight to you as well." I finish as I begin to put the key in the door, unlocking it. Rudy walks off as I manage to open the door. I push the heavy door forward, realizing the lights are already on in here.

I make my way inside the room and close the door behind me, locking it. I see Ghost sitting on the lower bunk bed, a tray of food from the cafeteria beside him. His back is slightly hunched over, his elbows resting on his knees. He no longer has the skull mask on, but instead just his skull balaclava, making it easier to see his eyes. He still had black smudged around them, his eyebrows barely covered.

I was hoping I'd be the first to arrive here, maybe then I'd feel more at ease in my own room. I don't get that kind of luck though, unfortunately.

Ghosts food was more so done, and his mask was down so I'm assuming he finished eating, but his brownie was the only thing left on the tray. Maybe he just doesn't like sweets. I don't bother to pay him much attention, so I walk over to one of the duffle bags on the floor. Once again, I'm unsure of who's is who's since we both have matching black bags. I'm gonna need to put a tag on mine or something pretty soon.

I drop down to my knees in front of my back duffle bag, unzipping it, revealing the big pile of clothes.

Thank god I picked the right one.
