A few days had had passed, and Ghost and I haven't spoken a word since the briefing, even though we share a room. That night when I returned to the barracks I was surprised to see that I finally had my own mattress, so that meant me and him no longer needed to share his.

I don't really know how to feel about that. The past few days he wouldn't even come into the room at night until way later, when I was already fallen asleep, and just like normal he would be up and ready in the morning and gone even before I woke up.

I don't know how he manages to do it, he must feel so tired all the time getting little sleep. The only reason I know he actually does come into the room to sleep at night is because of small things would be moves around, like his bags and his bed would be made slightly different each morning.

God only knows how he doesn't wake me up.

Today was just like the last few days. I'd been going under some more training with Alejandro to prepare myself for my upcoming mission. This included plenty of hand to hand combat, as that's something I need to be on my top A game on incase anything went wrong while I was undercover.

I also had to go through memorising who I'll be pretending to be, remembering such small details about my fake little life so I doubt get caught up.

Today was just some basic training, though, so nothing major. Soap suggested we go on a run around base, and I happily accepted. I got changed into some light clothing, like some leggings and a tank top, as well as some sneakers. I also put my hair up and out of my face, I was ready to meet up with Soap now.

I made my way out of the barracks building and met him outside in the large parking lot. Soap had his back towards me, just looking up at the sky. I walk up right along side him.

"Sorry if I took long." I speak up.

He turned to face me quick like I grabbed his attention in an instant. Maybe I scared him.

"Nah, no worries." He replies.

"So, which way do you wanna go? This is a pretty huge base." I question him.

Soap looks to both sides of us, thinking to himself for a moment. "Hmm..good question." He starts. He looks over to the left side. I look over as well, and notice some flower pots in the far distance.

"Let's go this way." Soap finishes and points in that direction.

I was honestly glad he decided on going this way, I was hoping he would.

"Sounds like a plan." I smile.

"Then let's get started!" He exclaims in an excited tone, taking off running along the concrete with a goofy smile plastered onto his face.

"Hey! Wait for me!" I yell and start to run after him, pumping my arms in hopes of catching up to him.

Soap laughs and slows down slightly for just a moment, letting me catch up to him. I run along side him now as we make our way down the path.

"Sorry, lass. You gotta learn to keep up!" He teases me in a breathy energetic and breathy tone.

"Oh be quiet, you just took off without me!" I reply with a large grin on my face.

"And I'll do it again." He teases once more.

"Whatever, jerk." I reply and push his arm slightly causing him to wobble, but he regains his balance without skipping a beat. I couldn't help but laugh.

The Las Alma's heat was beaming down on us, the asphalt below our feet seemed to make it even hotter. That didn't matter though, we just pushed through and continued running.
