It was currently 8 o'clock at night, the plane we used to arrive here in Russia was back and ready to take us over to Mexico. After a long drive we made it to the pick up sight where the plane was stationed. I rode with Gaz and Price this time, sitting quietly in the backseat while Ghost and Soap rode together in the separate Jeep. I preferred not riding with Ghost, he hates playing music in the car.
We all pile out of the Jeeps one by one, everyone starting to gather things to load back onto the plane. I feel sluggish and slowly make my way out of the vehicle, walking around to the back where Gaz was already unloading things from the back. He was pulling out bags and containers to bring to the plane. Obviously I picked up my personal bag, along with other things.
The plane makes a loud noise as it lowers its back entrance, the mechanic ringing and slow humming of all the gears turning is all I can hear. They're so loud. I turn around and wait for it to reach the ground, and once it does with a slight boom, I make my way up the steep walkway. I drop the containers first, those being the heaviest. I stack them in a corner and secure them with heavy duty straps to one of the walls. I then make my way over to the same seat I sat in last time I was aboard here, and toss my bag in front of my seat as a sort of dibs.
I make my way back outside and see Soap struggling to carry a bunch of stuff at once, I quickly make my way down the planes entrance and remove some of the bags from his shoulders and wrists.
"Thanks, lass." He grunts, but a smile creeps onto his face.
"No problem." I reply as we make our way back up together.
We reach the top and I set the bags down on one side of the plane. I catch a glimpse of Ghost, who seems to be carrying the heaviest crate. At least he's good for heavy lifting. I roll my eyes and make it back to my seat. Everyone finishes packing up the plane as I do, shutting the Jeeps for the final time.
Everyone seems to finds their seats and make sure to buckle up. Price makes his way to the cockpit, just like he did the last time. I lean to the side and rest my head against the cold metal wall. I jump slightly involuntarily, snapping out of my thoughts when I feel my seat bounce slightly with the weight of someone sitting down next to me. I lift my head up and turn it to the side, seeing that its Gaz who decided to be seated next to me.
I look over at him and smile. "You ready for another long ass flight?" I ask, honestly not feeling ready myself.
Gaz just sighs, "We're always moving around, all over the world. Sucks, I wanted to make snowmen before we left, but here we are."
"Snowmen? I would have made some with you! You should have said something." I reply, that sounded like so much fun and now I regret not being able to have made them with him and the others.
"Yeah, well it cant be helped." Gaz replies.
"Do you guys really always move around like this? We were only in Russia for a week."
Gaz just nods, he's about to say something but he's interrupted by Ghosts voice.
"That's the job, this isn't some bloody vacation. Stop treating it like one, sergeants." Ghosts voice booms, seeming agitated with listening to us talk.
I look up at Ghost, my face becomes scrunched up, my eyes darting at him, hoping to pierce through him. He's sitting in the row of seats across from us, on the other side of the plane.
"All due respect, lieutenant, nobody was talking to you." I roll my eyes after speaking, and I look back at Gaz.
"Awkward." Soap chirps with a smile. He's obviously trying to lighten the mood, but it doesn't help. I look at him for a moment then my eyes dart back at Ghost.
