Kai smirked at her and tightened his arm around her waist "Well, unless you've got some Bennett blood in you, there is no way we'll get out of here anytime soon." his playful demeanour dropped as he was once again reminded of the almost two decades which he had spent in this lonesome world.
Ayla, being the empath she is, wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer to hug him. Kai, who hadn't been touched by anyone for a very long time, couldn't really decipher what he was feeling.
Suddenly he felt as if all the warmth in the universe was surrounding him, something whispering in his mind that however his future may look like, as long as he had her, as long as he was in her arms, he would be safe.
It scared him. Being a sociopath meant that he couldn't really process any of this. he felt warm, yes. He felt something for her, but he didn't know what it was. "I'm Ayla Salvatore by the way. Maybe I should have said that first but whatever"
The brunette grinned slightly as she lead her new soulmate to the couch so that they both could sit down. "Don't worry, Kai. Now that I'm here, I'm sure we will find a way out. Together. I mean, that is if my idiot brother doesn't find a way to get us out of here sooner."
There were so many questions in the Gemini's head and he was trying to figure out what he should ask first.
"How do you know my name?" he asked. Ayla bit her lip, noticing Kai's eyes wander, she slipped up. Kai hadn't introduced himself yet. There was only one thing that came to her mind, "I know Luke. He told me about you once, showed me the article" not a lie.
Kai stared at her for a second "Luke as in my little brother who I tried to murder?"
"Yup, that one."
"okay, so you saw the article. And? you're not flipping out about me murdering my own siblings?" he asked. "naahh, I've killed my brothers countless of times now. I got more creative over the years." she grinned at the memories.
"that's not the same" he countered. He was trying to figure out what kind of person Ayla is. So far she seemed sweet but nuts. I mean, there had to be a reason for her to get the worse punishment someone could receive right? He should be more cautious, for all he knew, she could be sucking him dry any second now.
Something in him told him that he didn't have to worry. That she would never hurt him, he knew it was the bond. The bigger part of him was untrusting and he knew that it would take a lot for him to remotely trust her. Malachai Parker didn't trust, anyone. He could pretend though.
He didn't know how sincere his feeling for his soulmate were or what he was feeling but he didn't want to think about that right now. He was just going to do what felt right at the moment.
