.XIII.
The next morning Ayla woke up with her mate in her arms. Her mate who now bears her mark and had her scent on him. Smiling she looked down at him. She thought that she could never be as happy and content in her life like right now.
She felt amazing. She could feel Jeremy, his emotions, it was overwhelming in the best possible way. She stared at him for a bit, then decided to wake him so it wouldn't get creepy.
He looked beautiful though, his hair fell in front his forehead and he had one arm draped over Ayla's stomach, making his muscles flex and Ayla to almost drool.
The youngest Salvatore leaned down to kiss her mates forehead and ran her fingers along his arm. Jeremy stirred but didn't wake up so Ayla pulled his chin up making him come out of the crook of her neck and kissed his lips.
Jeremy's eyes fluttered open and he stared tired eyed at his girlfriend. She pulled out of the kiss, making Jeremy chase after her lips, and beamed down at him.
"Good morning, Jer." she whispered and kissed his cheek. "A good morning indeed. I love waking up next to you" the Gilbert boy mumbled giving her a lazy smile.
Ayla's cheeks flushed and she kissed him again. While they kissed, a frown etched itself onto Jeremy's face. Ayla pulled back and stared at him, trying to figure out what was going on.
Jeremy looked somehow overwhelmed and then she realized "That is our bond, love. You are feeling my emotions. I know it's overwhelming, try to focus on your own emotions." she told him.
Jeremy took a few deep breaths trying to calm down, so that he could focus. Even though Jeremy was pretty much overloaded with emotions and couldn't read any of them, he still felt his own happiness. He finally understood what Ayla meant.
It felt amazing to feel your soulmate. It's like your whole life there was something incomplete. It's like you forgot the eggs while baking a cake. It tastes still good but there's definitely something missing.
He found his missing piece and finally it clicked right into its designated place, just like in a puzzle. He was beyond ecstatic.
After a few tries he finally did it, he focused on his happiness that he felt when Ayla pressed another lasting kiss to his forehead and then he suddenly felt a warmth spread trough his whole body.
