As we stood by the water, a fish kept jumping out of the surface, much to Sokka's annoyance. He brandished a stick, waving it at the water as if taunting the fish. I couldn't help but feel puzzled by his actions.
"What are you trying to do, Sokka? Scare it off?" I asked, hoping for an explanation.
Sokka scowled. "I'm trying to catch it, but where's my fishing line?" he grumbled.
Aang chimed in, presenting a neatly bundled line. "I thought you might need it, Sokka," he said cheerfully.
Sokka's frustration only grew as he found the line hopelessly tangled. "It's not just tangled, it's woven!" he fumed.
Aang, undeterred, got up and airbent the line into a beautiful necklace, presenting it to Katara with a bright smile. "I made this for you, Katara, since you lost your old one," he said.
Katara stepped forward, taking the necklace with gratitude. "Thank you, Aang, it's lovely," she said, admiring the intricate weaving.
Meanwhile, Sokka continued to struggle with the fish, which seemed to be too much for him to handle. Katara brought up the fact that Aang was just a good friend, and I winced inwardly at the reminder.
We were startled by the deafening roar of a bear, and we all rushed over to investigate. As we arrived, we saw an old man being attacked by a platypus bear. Aang, Katara, and Sokka all offered advice on how to handle the situation, but I couldn't be bothered to intervene. Instead, I stood back and munched on a handful of cashew nuts, watching the events unfold.
Thankfully, Appa arrived on the scene and roared loudly, scaring off the bear. However, it left behind an egg that Sokka seemed all too eager to grab. "Hmm, lunch," he remarked nonchalantly.
I shrugged. "Fair enough," I said, still nibbling on my nuts.
The old man, who had been sitting in a meditative position, stood up and thanked us. "I had everything under control, but I appreciate the help," he said, approaching us. "Aunt Wu predicted that I would have a safe journey, and it seems she was right."
As we stood there in confusion, the old man's cryptic words lingered in the air. His sudden departure left us feeling unsettled and uncertain. Yet, before he disappeared from sight, he handed something to Aang. We all watched with curiosity as he tore open the package, revealing an unexpected item - an umbrella.
As if on cue, the skies opened up and rain began to pour down on us. Katara and I quickly huddled under the umbrella, grateful for its shelter. Sokka, however, was preoccupied with his own thoughts and accidentally let go of the egg he had been carrying, it cracked over his head and I started laughing.
In the midst of this chaos, Katara suggested seeking out Aunt Wu to learn more about our fortunes. Sokka and I were sceptical, knowing that fate is a fickle thing that can change at any moment. But with the rain continuing to pour down on us, we couldn't help but wonder what other surprises lay ahead on our journey.
As we walked through the village, we passed a group of quacking ducks and arrived at a house where a person outside greeted us with a polite bow. "Aunt Wu is expecting you," he said.
Katara's eyes lit up with excitement. "Really?" she exclaimed.
We entered the house and were greeted by Aunt Wu's assistant, a young girl named Meng. As she introduced herself and looked up, I noticed a sudden change in her demeanour. She seemed to be taken with Aang, who was completely oblivious to her flirtations.
As we settled down on the cushions, Meng brought out a feast of food. I couldn't help but notice Meng's continued attempts to get Aang's attention. Nonetheless, I enjoyed sneaking some of the delicious food.
