(Another week, another story, morning writings.)

Rumor has it that soulmates can be in a multitude of forms, even after death. Some have strings, others have sudden bursts of color after looking into their eyes, and what most likely have is the reincarnation factor.

But for Nene, she had yet to figure out what she had, she thought that her world would 'pop!' with color after looking into the eyes of the many boys she had fallen for, but nothing happened, she almost gave up, but something told her not to, like it willed her to keep trying.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was another day in the dreary office where Nene worked, her world still a sullen gray after so many years, she hadn't given up though. When on her breaks or at home, she would search up certain aspects of Soulmates, seeing markings and words from those that found theirs or have yet to find them, but were close to it. It wasn't too often that Nene would think that maybe she didn't have a soulmate, but again- a pull snapped her out of it, though it wasn't the red string, but something she couldn't explain.
Yet as the day went by and she continued her work, she got an email from her boss saying that she will be training a new employee, which never really happened, but it was a welcome occurrence. "I guess I could find out something, maybe this might be the one... Doubt it though..." Nene hummed as she read through the email, noting that it would be a week from now that the new employee arrives, which gives her time to gather the right things.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Days went by as the workload for both Nene and her co-workers went up and down with time, Nene's workload being relatively less due to needing time to train the newbie. When the time came, she was called into the main office where the newly hired employee and her boss was, both looking decent but still different shades of gray. "Good evening, I'm Nene Yashiro, I'll be your trainer for a few days."

Nothing really happened soulmate wise, no spark, or flicker of colors, but something was there- just needed a certain push. The new employee nodded at the introduction, his voice clearing slightly as he looked around a bit, as if not having a destute reaction to all this."Amane Yugi, thank you for this opportunity and your time." Again, no spark, so it can't be hearing each other's names, or looking into the others eyes, but that doesn't mean everything was tried.

The first day of training was over in a few hours, Amane being decently good at the job he applied for, which was surprisingly good considering the others had to slowly climb to get that job. "Maybe I don't have to train you for too long then... Here- I'll show you the break room and the better bathrooms... The ones that are usually here are... Not pleasant."

The reasoning for the unpleasant bathroom, was due to it being quite the 'hub' for soulmates to have their fling when they find their other half or are co-workers that have break at the same times, most of the workers avoided it due to it being seemingly unsanitary for some, but most ignored the warnings and then understood why it was avoided.

When it was time to leave Nene and Amane found it to be a coincidence that they walked the same way, albeit one farther than the other. It wasn't too long of a walk, but it didn't seem all that bad, normally she walked home alone with a tad bit of anxiety due to mentions of apparitions looming, but with Amane there, she didn't have that anxiety.

As Nene went up to her apartment, she waved to Amane and said goodnight, going inside to prepare her dinner that she would have before going to bed. Amane on the other hand- he stayed around for a little bit, making sure that he was silent, unlike everyone else- he was sure that Nene was the one!

But he would have to get her to trust him on that factor.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By the next few days, Nene and Amane have been chatting and hanging out after the training sessions, sometimes having coffees and sweets before work. Though it wasn't really going the way Amane wanted, Nene still had some walls up and he wanted to know why, why didn't she trust as easily as the others?
"Hey, I'm taking a few vacation days next week, I want to visit some family in Nagasaki for the upcoming holiday." Nene said as she walked past the Boss's office, waiting for a bit before nodding at the confirmation, a bright smile gracing her visage as the vacation was approved. She didn't really have family in Nagasaki, she only wanted to get away from work for a few days, something felt off after one of her neighbors said there was a rise of little spirits hanging around the apartment. "Nagasaki? That's quite far from here, you sure you will be alright on your own?"
Amane had shown up at Nene's cubicle, leaning on the wall a bit as he munched on a spare doughnut from earlier, he seemed a bit cheeky at the question "Yes, I'll be alright, either way, I would've had more problems if I went to Tokyo. Too pricey and big." Nene went back to work, quickly skimming through the harder projects and getting them done first before having the easier stuff done. "Shouldn't you be doing your work? Shoo-" She moved her hands in the shooing motion, laughing softly as Amane tried to gently swat the hand away, that is until he gently grabbed it in a princely way.
Nene paused as she stared at the other, her eyes widening as she did, this was a first for her in a while- well- not the princely hand hold- but vibrant colors. Sure she knew what colors were what, but having monochrome sight since 13? Not too good for 7-8 years. ".... interesting-" Nene pulled Amane closer, getting a gentle hold on his face as she looked into his eyes, the intricate but subtle designs in the swirling amber " Didn't know amber eyes could be so pretty..."
For the other party- Amane was trying to keep his composure, what happened to the girl that he had met those few years back, well- probably a lot, considering she never really met him until just a few days ago. "can ya let go? People are watching..." Nene laughed softly, letting go of Amane's face as he skittered away to his cubicle, was he flustered? Probably, but Nene had gotten so bold over the years, did she give up on the innocent daikon act of her personality?
