The feeling gnawed at her chest, crawling its way up her throat as she gasped for air. Her lungs burned as she struggled to grasp upon her consciousness.

She covered her ears, hoping it would all go away.

"Help me please."

don't look back.

"It's your fault."

Leave me alone.

She thrashed around fighting the urge to listen to the constant screams in her mind. A burning sensation made her cry as she scratched at her skin, her ghastly eyes looked at her hands that were now stained a dark crimson.

"Wake up!"

"Wake up!"

Waking up with a jolt, Your eyes darted open, looking around at your surroundings. As your vision grew accustomed to the darkness, you let out a sigh of relief, having realized you were in the comfort of your bed.

Your hand patted your chest feeling your shaky breath, you laid back down trying to focus on the pounding sound of your heartbeat. As you attempted to still your beating heart, the horrific contents of your nightmare resurfaced as you remembered the faces of the fallen soldiers who were once a part of your team.

The pleads of help, the blood, the way their bodies fell limp were still so vivid as if it had just happened.

knowing that staying in bed would reminisce more memories, hastily you removed the thin sheet off your body and got ready for the day, knowing that since sleeping wasn't much of an option.

You took a glance out the window and noticed the early hours of the morning-- though it was still too early to be waking up.

You decided it was best to leave the crowded room, quickly you slipped into a new shirt you found in the small dresser, along with the cargo pants you usually wore for training. You took one last glance to see if you had woken anybody before walking out of the shared dorm. Your slow steps echoed through the corridor as you reached the end with a door that had a bright sign labeled 'exit'.

In fear of getting caught by the General, you looked around and hesitantly pushed the door open before exiting the building. Immediate relief relaxed your body, feeling the cool crisp morning air, slight fog from the early showers, it felt much better than the stuffy feeling in the dorms.

You headed to the training grounds towards the arsenals--situated in the corner of the field. Plopping your frame to the ground you decided to stretch to pass the time as you would probably spend the rest of the day packing your bags. You commenced with simple leg stretches, as you listened to the gentle sound of birds chirps that filled your ears.

The temporary feeling was serene-- the soft coos, the pleasant feel of your sore muscles as you relaxed them-- it set you at ease from the nerves, for a second you felt a peace reminding you of the values of life.

till it couldn't.

The racing memories of the nightmare filled your thoughts, almost as if they were mocking you. Instantly the tragic memories of seven years assaulted your mind, screaming terrors, the irking smell of blood--you couldn't handle it.
