Static ringing flooded your senses, your hands were cold loosing the sense of touch as your heart raced a million miles per hour. Staggered breathing and pent up frustration, the over stimulation created this agony within you.
"(Y/n) answer me, please look at me."
His voice quietly echoed within the background of your head, you could barley sense his hands that shook you ever so violently.
"Please come on, wake up."
There he was again, his voice getting quieter, his voice cracking at the sight of your bloodied body and bullet filled body.
"Captain please get us out of here."
The last tangible words he spoke beside your world became dark.
"Fuck please hurry."
From above the caved in trenches Soap hurriedly ascended down a rope allowing Roach to tie the ends to you and him. With a tug, Soap signaled for the helicopter to fly up pulling the two of you out.
"You broken?" Soap yelled above the noise watching as Roach expressed pure panic. "She's not responding we have to get back." He nodded helping carry you back into the heli being sure to provide protection in hope another ambush won't take another life.

"She will be fine Gary, she's a fighter."
"It was all my fault, if- if I had just listened to Price he wouldn't have been taken and she wouldn't be on her death bed right now, I'm sorry captain I've made another mistake."
Soap sighed, he had never seen the young lad so vulnerable, he wasn't sure how to console the man, but he knew how important you were to him, how much he spent his night caring for you. "I don't think a few bullets will get her so quickly, you did everything you could son, don't let it take you down, now go get some rest, we have a man to get back."
He nodded watching Soap descend from the perch he sat on, watching the moonlight become day, another restless night.
Roach walked down the hill approaching the medical facility located just west of the main base. He was a common visitor these past few days, so often that they didn't even bother asking him his reason for visit, instead they tell him each time where your room is. He appreciates the kind gesture and always finds ways to repay the medics for their work. He's always believed that hard work pays off, but he's never applied that to himself.
He's always been teased for being the new guy, and oftentimes find himself falling behind a lot, he blames himself, plaguing his mind with insecurities he's never had.
Two firm knocks on the door, like usual he expected no response and again, there was none. He pushed the door to the left revealing you sleeping, again for the past few days.
"I'm so sorry dear."
It was always the same four words whenever faced with his mistakes. Roach spent everyday blaming himself for your injuries, his own inability to do anything.
"When you wake up, we should travel to another country, visit my hometown meet my mother, start our own family, build a life outside of this god forbidden hell."
He bit his lip, his mouth quivering from the tears he tried so desperately to hold back. "I can finally hold you again, and never loose you" and once more he broke into tears, his shaky hands caressing the paleness of your face. Each mechanical beep of the heart monitor echoing louder and louder as he sobbed into your leg.
Sight and senses were one thing but touch was another, he missed feeling your hands cradle him, missed the touch of your words at nights he felt anxious. He wanted to touch you to feel you again.
"Sargent Roach we are...closing for the night."
Walking into the room the medical assistant watched as Roach had called asleep on your lap, his hand holding yours and the two of you peacefully slept. "I'll leave you to it then." He smiled at the scene, turning the lights off and shutting the door he left the two of you to rest.
it was already eight the next night, Roach was still asleep holding your hand. At that point you had managed to gain consciousness, though in immense pain you could only appreciate the sight before you.
The love of your life sleeping every so soundly upon your leg as his other hand held onto the blanket like a baby. You freed your uninjured hand from his grasp, taking the moment to fix his messy hair, moving then from afront his eyes.
His forehead tensed under your touch as he slowly felt himself wake.
Immediately his eyes met yours. His loving brown eyes growing wide as he shot up from the chair immediately burying you in a hug. A hug so loving that it felt like year since he last saw you.
"I've missed you so much."
He held you tighter taking in every warming scent and moment he could. "I was so scared I lost you." He went on, soon enough he spent almost the entire time apologizing and then apologizing some more.
"Honey, it's okay, I'm fine and well and you're here with me, it's all the matters."
He smiled caressing your face feeling the warmth finally coming back. "Let's go back yeah?"
Roach nodded taking no chance to leave your side, ever.
"Glad to have you back!" Soap welcomed you back with open arms and partially Roach as he promised to never let you go.
"Get some rest and we'll meet you back here." You smiled and walked off with Roach.
"Let me change and I'll see you in like two seconds okay?" He refused at first, wanting to at least stand by you facing away to give you at least some privacy. "Gary hun, I'll be okay." Leaning up you pressed a warm kiss against his lips and took that moment to run away.
"Wait (y/n)! Open the door!"
