I reached the front gates of the base, I wanted to feel nervous and excited, but i couldn't only think about Yuri, and how I never took the chance to run after him, not even for a moment thought to consider that perhaps I was in love with him.

However, as much as I wanted to turn back and apologize to him, I couldn't bring myself to face his painful expression, I regretted not saying anything, but even now, I wouldn't be able to change the circumstances of our feelings, I could run back and find him, confess everything, but he wouldn't believe me.

Waving down a cab, I tossed in my duffel bag and shut the door, hoping that, it could help end this memory and creat a new one.

For a while my thoughts sat in the back of my wondering mind, I watched through window seeing as my other comrades gathered, waving at me bidding a warm farewell before i left for good. However, beside the general was an empty spot for the one person I wished had seen me out, but my uncertainty and distrust of feeling dug into the wounds of his young heart, as I would now see the consequences.

Admitting my fault I looked down at my hands that held the small pin that I was gifted. A smile danced on my lips as I felt gratitude, not towards the pin itself but whom I had received it from, as good memories of our friendship filled my sorrowful soul.

I was foolish to leave on such terms, having no intentions of ever being confessed to, I was a woman in the military, love and affection was the last thing I expected to arise from my profession.

A ragged and slow breath left my chest, uncertainty lingering in my heart.

"Uh excuse me, could you please stop here, I left something."

I gave him the rest of my cash as a kind gesture for me wasting his time, and grabbed my bag running back to where I left from. I wasn't sure what was going to happened but I wanted nothing more than to see him again, I wasn't going to accept our departure.

My feet carried me as fast as I could, only hoping that I wasn't too late. I reached the now closed gates of the military base coming in contact with the guards.

"Let me through." I panted, watching ad they stared at each other. "We can't just let anyone in uhh ma'am" my arms dropped it disbelief.

"Are you fucking serious? Let me through." I dig through my pocket, taking out my I.D practically shoving it into the guard face.

"Ouh a right!" He saluted, signaling for his friend to allow me access.

I ran toward the front entrance disregarding anyone who called after me, I was on a mission that I intended to finish. I ran down the familiar corridor and past the bustling mess hall, making my way toward his office.

Without a knock, I pushed the door open, casting the luminous hallway light into his office.

He was seated in the corner where I would sit whenever I visited him, his elbows rested on his knees as his head sat snugly in his palms. Alone in the dark he breathed a heavy sigh, feeling the presence of someone but didn't care who.

"Yuri." You said in a pant, immediately you rushed toward him, dropping to you knees as you embraced his side allowing him to feel you again.

He was shocked, surprised to say the least, unsure as to why you were there, or perhaps he was hallucinating and didn't want to accept reality of his rejection.

"God in so sorry Yuri, I-I was so nervous, and I couldn't even imagine ever being confessed to, I just couldn't get over my ego and I hurt you, I'm sorry Yuri."

His mind began to accept reality as he leaned back a bit, slightly out of your grasp, his warm eyes looked into yours, his lips holding a slight frown. "I thought I made and fool of myself."

He confessed.

"No Yuri, I was the fool." You reached forward holding his face between your hands, caressing the stuble of his beard. "You don't have to forgive me, but I finally realized my feelings, and I want to be with you."

Yuri's eyes grew, his lips growing wider as he smiled from ear to ear. "That makes me so happy." He smiled like a kid.

Leaning forward he hugged you, his arms right around your shoulders as your nose dug into his neck, gaining a whiff of his scent.

"Can I kiss you?" He asked, his arms remaining around you. You smiled, nodding into his shoulder.

He leaned back, moving his hands so that they sat atop your checks, taking his time to admire you, despite the dark he could see so clearly, the features of your kind eyes and lips.

Pushing you in he met you halfway, his lips connecting to yours, fondly so, he considers your lips the final piece to the puzzle.
