Chapter 14

"Runaway Percy"

Told By Mark Morhagan

"Welcome to Sodor, Pop. 75,000, give or take..."

Created by John Andrews

Henry, Gordon, and James were miserable. They had been shut up in their sheds for several days for being naughty and their silly strike, and they longed to be let out again because they were feeling very sorry for themselves. At last, Sir Topham Hatt arrived to come see them.

Sir Topham Hatt: I hope you three are sorry, and understand that you're not so important after all and that every job on my railway is important! We have a new tank engine named Percy, who helps shunt coaches and trucks in the yard at Knapford along with Bingo, and Thomas and Edward, along with Bluey and Indy, have worked the mainline very well.  But I will let you out now if you promise to behave yourselves and try your best!

Gordon, Henry, and James: Yes sir! Oh yes! We will!

Sir Topham Hatt: That's very good. But please remember that this "No shunting" nonsense must stop.

Then, Sir Topham Hatt told Thomas, Edward, and Percy, along with their puppy friends that they could go and play on the Ffarqhaur Branchline for a few days.

They ran off happily and found Annie and Clarabel at the junction at Knapford. The two coaches were pleased to see Thomas and Bluey again. Edward, Indy, Percy, and Bingo were playing with trucks and shunting them into their proper places.

Trucks: Stop! Stop! Stop!

But the four friends laughed and went on shunting until the trucks were tidily arranged.

Bingo: Heeheehee!

Thomas: I'll be off now! See you later!

Bingo: See ya, Thomas and Bluey!

Bluey: Take care of Percy and yourself, Bingo!

Bingo: I will!

Next, Edward and Indy took some empty trucks to the Anopha Quarry. Percy and Bingo were left alone. But they didn't mind that at all, really. They liked watching the other trains go by and being cheeky to their friends. They teased them and told them to pick up the pace, but they all got very annoyed.

Percy shunts some trucks into a siding

Bingo: Phew. There. That ought to do it, Percy!

Percy: Thanks Bingo. You and your Sister are the Best I really mean it!

Bingo: Thanks!

Percy: Your games have worked wonders for me!

Bingo: What can I say? Sisters stick together and share their knowledge.
