There was a moment of stunned silence before the air was rent apart by ally squealing like a fifteen year old girl at a one direction concert.

"Oh my gods! Really? You found them? Who is it?" OK, so obviously she thought this was a good thing.

I sent Mark a look that pleaded for him to stop her before she went into wedding planning mode, which she tried to do when she found out jane and I had fooled around In the past.

Mark put a calming hand on his mates shoulder, "kari, I thought you've never really been into the whole mate bond idea?" Ally's face visibly fell as her mates words sunk in.

"I don't want a mate, I never really have" I sighed and looked to jane who seemed to consider for a second before nodding, answering my un-voiced question. I turned back to her parents and continued, " but that's not even the worst part. I think I might have two mates? Or atleast two idiots who made it appear to have been effected at the same time."

"Wait, did you say two?" Asked ally, suddenly looking shocked.

Jane and i nodded, "have you guys ever heard of something like this before?" jane asked.

"I mean i've heard the classic werewolf legends, but those are mostly about men having two mates." i added.

"Yeah, werewolf legends tend to favor men, but the stories i was told growing up were quite different" mark said. "Demon lore tends to not favor one gender over the toher and in our tales both men and woman over the centuries have been given multiple mates, usually in a time where immortals were in great danger from either themselves or the mortals. You see, an immortal who is given two mates is supposed to be revered above all others as a great leader of sorts."

"Um, no. I am definitely not a great leader so I can't have two mates" I said, quickly, putting my hands out infront of me in a "stop" gesture.

Mark shrugged "hey, I'm just giving you the information that I have, Its possible the vampires tell it differently than we demons do." He was right, we supernatural beings have never been known for our consistency, I mean hell just look at the conflict in legends we gave the mortals about us. Putting my hands down, I nodded and he continued. "If you really think about it though I can understand why the goddess would give someone two mates now, I mean we have been forced onto reservations to live and die for the last fifty years. The fae have pretty much faded from the world all together-"

"Dad, no one knows what's happened to the fae" jane interjected. Which was true, the fae disappeared as soon as the reservations came about, they didnt agree with the idea of being confined to a certain area.the fae are known to be free spirits who roam the earth as they please, containing them is like trying to cage the winds, pretty much impossible.

"What i mean is, with the fae gone there is no balance in the world. The mortals have the uper hand by kleeping us locked up on the reservations, we dont even have a good idea of how things are out in the rest of the world. Or hell, what they are doing to those who they capture" mark said.

Ally put a hand on his arm, "ok, babe, lets not get worked up now" she said.

Mark was very outspoken about his disdain for the reservations and the mortal government. The humans didnt even really give our ancestors a choice when it came to the reservations, it was either agree or continue a gruesome war that would have no winner. Pur ancesters took the choice that they knew would mean the continuation of the specieses.

"My point being, we are at a critical point in history. Historically this is when talk of revolution begins and honestly i dont believe that would be a bad idea" mark added.
