After lunch we went back to the pack house long enough to drop off the dozens of bags we had from the devils advocate and other stores anna had me stop at.
"Ok, where to next?" i asked, really hoping that anna would say bed, because my feet were killing me.
"Hmm, well you've seen the woods, the beach and market street, im not sure what else to show you. I could give you a tour of the pack house that way you know where your going. Or, oh i dont know, what are you into?" anna asked as she paced around my room.
I sat down on the edge of my bed and watched her, pondering her question. What was i into? "Is there a library?" i asked.
Anna stopped pacing and perked up, "ive got a better idea! If your into books not only do we have a library, but mary woods has her own bookstore down on belle avenue, its only about a miles walk-"
"Lets go!" i grinned, jumping up from my bed, suddenly bursting with energy.
Anna smiled back at me and nodded, "who knew my new brooding best friend would be such a book worm" she giggled.
Best friend? She thought we were best friends?
I mean i guess her constant babbling wasnt to bad to deal with, and i was really having a good time, but im not sure i could call her my best friend. Jane was the only one who could hold that title in my heart, time, distance and her death werent even enough to change that. I decided not to correct the girl, whats the worst that could happen with her thinking she holds that title.
"Yeah, its actually been alot of fun hanging with you today" i finally said.
"Ok, so lets go check out the book store and then we can come back and i'll show you the library" anna suggested.
I nodded, "but first i need to go and talk to the alpha, my foster parents are wanting to come down and visit"
"Ok, we can do that"
We walked out of my room and across the hall to the alphas office and knocked.
"Come in"
I opened the door to see alpha alissa sitting behind her desk, bent over a large stack of papers. As we entered she looked up and smiled at us, "ah, kari, how are you?"
I gave her a warm smile in return, "im doing great alissa, thank you so much for having anna show me around today"
"Of course, its no problem. Anna is one of our best fighter and an all around amazing person" alissa said, inclining her head towards anna.
Anna gave the alpha that big goofy grin of hers, "thank you, alpha" she said.
"What can i do for you?" alpha alissa asked.
"I just wanted to ask if my foster parents are allowed to come down and visit for a few days?" i asked fiddling with my fingers.
"Of course! I think that would be a great idea." alissa said. "They can stay as long as they like"
"Thank you so much!" i practically gushed.
"There is something i needed to talk to you about before you leave" alpha alissa said as i turned to walk out fo the room. I turned back around to face the alpha. "We have a visitor coming today and i would prefer that you not be here for the visit"
I stared at her confused, "ok? I mean we are going to the book store right now, so i probably wont be back the rest of the day" i said.
The alpha nodded, "good, anna please see to it that you two are not back before dark"
