"Sir, we just received word from one of our spies that your mate has been located in california, at the Baywatch reservation" connor said, walking into my fathers office.

I looked up from the stack of papers in front of me and stared at the scrawny sixteen year old.

"Your sure this time?" i asked. Supposed sightings of kari had been pouring in from every where ever since my father put the bounty out on her.

Connor nodded, "the spy swears that kari was seen walking the beach with the packs luna just yesterday."

I leaned back in my chair and laced my fingers together in my lap. If kari was truly at Baywatch then that was going to be a huge problem. Alpha alissa was known for breaking all of the packs natural laws. Hell, the alpha has convinced her whole pack the Goddess gave her a woman as a mate. There were even rumors of Baywatch trying to revolt against the government. They believed that the reservations were a hindrance and wrong for the supernatural community.

Connor cleared his throat. I help back the urge to roll my eyes at the annoying omega. "I will look into these rumors, thank you.

The boy opened and closed his mouth before nodding and walked out of the office.

If my kari was truly at Baywatch then things just got alot more complicated, there is no way alpha alissa would willingly hand her over to me. If the stupid girl had just stayed here where she belongs then none of this would be happening.

The now all to familiar pain from the rejection coursed through my body at the thought of my mate. I gripped my chest, my heart felt as if it was being ripped apart again and again.

It took what felt like hours for the pain to finally begin to subside. When it finally did i reached for my phone and called my father.

"Yes" he said, answering on the second ring.

"Our spies have spotted kari at Baywatch reservation" i gasped, still trying to catch my breath.

"Have you looked into these claims?" my father asked.

"I would like permission to check things out for myself, that way i can also work on relations with some of our allies" i offered trying my best to keep the hope out of my voice. Part of my punishment for killing the girl was i couldnt leave the rez without permission from my father, and he rarely gave out that honor.

"And why would i allow you off the reservation? Have you done all the work i set out for you?" father asked.

I looked down at the last few reports that i had to sift through. Fuck, i still have fifteen!

"I'm almost done" it wasnt a total lie, i started out with a few hundred. Father tended to give me the work that he didnt want to do himself. "Let me go and find kari and bring her home. Let me prove that i am worthy to be the alpha" just saying her name sent a stab of pain through my heart.

According to our laws i cant become the alpha with out a mate, the second kari rejected me she took away any power that i had, now i was just the soon to be ex-alpha's disgraced son.

"Fine." father said, his tone short and clipped. "I will warn you though, if you do not succeed you are not welcome back here, i will not allow you back on the reservation. It is your choice if you go in search of the girl or not, you have been warned. " with that the line went dead.

Fuck. fuck. Fuck.

Im so fucked. If kari refuses to come back with me ill be banished forever, forced to live as a rogue in the mortal lands, running and hiding from hunters for the rest of my days. On the other hand i know that i can get my mate back one way or another, even if i have to tie her up and drag her back kicking and screaming, i will get my mate back.
