"First, when no one let me see my mom and dad for the last time. I was so angry and frustrated," Roshni whispered, her voice trembling.
"Because your parents didn't just get into some normal accident. Their car blast in the middle of the road their body burns down completely. If you have seen them in that condition then I would have never got the old Roshni back." Daksh thought, clutching his fist.
"Second... when you slapped me in front of my teachers. Third... when I found out Riyansh had a girlfriend."
She was about to continue, but Daksh pressed his finger gently against her lips.
"Please... don't continue," he said quietly, his eyes locked with hers.
Roshni clutched both his hands, her eyes glassy. "You weren't the only reason, Daksh. Yes, I did it when you scolded me in front of class... and when you slapped me in front of the teachers. But other than that-" her voice cracked, "........You were never the reason."
She squeezed his hands tighter. "I won't do it again. I'll try my best, I promise."
"Roshni, don't continue," he cut her off, his tone firm. "I don't want to say or do something I'll regret. We'll talk about this after we go home. For now... go to sleep. You must be tired."
Her lips quivered. "Won't you sleep with me?"
"No."
Her heart sank, but she didn't argue. Instead, she lay down beside him, curling up and holding him tightly so she wouldn't fall from the couche.
"What are you doing? Go sleep on the bed, not on me." His voice was cold. "I'm the bad guy here, right? When you should've talked to me, you chose to harm yourself. Now what? Should I get you therapy?"
She shook her head quickly, unable to meet his eyes.
"I'm sorry..." she mumbled.
His lips curved into a dark smirk. "I will install camera in every fucking corner in our home." He pinched her lightly, making her squirm.
Again, she shook her head, silent tears brimming.
"You just wait and see what I'll do when we get home," he muttered, before scooping her up and carrying her to the bed. He lay down with her in his arms, holding her firmly.
Within minutes, Roshni drifted into sleep. But Daksh... his eyes remained wide open, thoughts gnawing at him.
He traced his fingers softly over her face. Then his touch moved lower, brushing against the scars on her thighs.
"I won't let this happen again," he whispered, pressing a tender kiss to her scars. "It must have hurt so much... and still you did it again and again. I was right here, Roshni. Every time you needed me, I was here. And still you chose this." His voice cracked, breaking through his restraint. "That's why you always spent so long in the bathroom, right?"
He brushed his hand across her cheek, lightly slapping it. though she slept soundly. "Don't you know? You weren't only hurting yourself you were hurting me too. Why didn't you come to me?" He pulled her closer, hugging her tightly, as though trying to fuse her into him.
Roshni stirred awake, blinking at the evening light. "We didn't come here just to sleep," she murmured, then turned her head. Daksh was still beside her, his hold firm even in sleep.
"I like staying this close to you," she giggled softly, sliding her hand across his waist, sneaking under his T-shirt.
"Daksh, wake up. Let's go out. I'm bored." She poked his cheek with her finger.
