"Everything is fine," The nurse said. The doctor nodded her head.
"Get her dressed for the sonography," she said, arranging all things on the table neatly.
Roshni came there in a hospital gown and lay down on the bed her heart flutter with excitement.
"I'm excited," she said to Daksh. Daksh held her hand while smiling.
The doctor put gel on her stomach before moving the machine.
Soon, the baby started to show on the screen. Roshni looked at the screen when the doctor pointed out where the baby was.
"It doesn’t look like a baby," Roshni mumbled to herself.
"It will feel like a baby in the upcoming months. Your baby is healthy. In your second-level ultrasound, you can see your baby’s hands and all the things," the doctor said, moving her chair. The nurse handed wipes to Roshni.
"Keep a healthy diet, and come again next month for a normal check-up. Or your brother can also do it at home. Let’s take your weight," the doctor said. Roshni nodded her head.
She stood on the weighing machine with her fingers crossed.
When she looked at her weight, all her excitement and happiness flew away.
She looked at Daksh, pouting.
After this, they both sat in front of the doctor. Daksh kept looking towards Roshni with a worried expression because of sudden expression change.
"She gets dizzy very often," Daksh said. Roshni looked towards him, shaking her head.
"Why don’t you bring her when this happens? Her blood pressure must have gone down."
"Roshni, keep doing some light physical work, but don’t tire yourself. In the next meeting, we’ll do a physical exam, and your husband is not allowed to enter the cabin then, okay?" the doctor said, looking at Roshni.
"Roshni, sit here," she said and turned her chair to get something.
Roshni complied and sat beside her, still looking at Daksh. He passed her a little smile.
Roshni didn’t realize when the doctor turned towards her and pushed an injection into her arm, making her flinch a little.
"Done," the doctor said, pressing cotton there.
"She might get a fever tomorrow. Give this medicine to her, and if the fever doesn’t go down, inform me. No need to bring her here; I’ll give the prescription to Ayaan. Roshni, take care of yourself and your baby," she said softly.
Roshni was still irritated by the fact that the doctor had just stabbed her with a needle without telling her.
"What happened? Are you sad because you weren’t able to find the baby?" Daksh asked, taking her hand in his.
"She stabbed me without my knowledge, and it’s hurting now—such a bitch," she said, rubbing her arm.
"Roshni, don’t," he said sternly, making her roll her eyes.
"I’m getting fat, Daksh. Let’s go shopping and buy some new loose clothes," she said sadly.
They sat in the car, and Daksh started driving towards their building.
"Roshni, you’ll eventually get back to your weight after the baby, and you’re not at all heavy," he said. She just looked outside the window.
As soon as they reached home, he scooped her into his arms.
"Let me carry you the whole day today and prove to you that you’re not at all heavy," he said, kissing her forehead. She smiled a little but covered her face with her palm.
