Broken Promise

Khun Sam was sitting on chair with her one leg crossed over another. She was looking intensely at three men who were on their knees in front of her.

"Where is Nop?"

"We already told you lady Sam we have no idea where your brother is."

"Don't you lie to me. You are his friends, he spend all of his time with you, do you think I will accept that you don't know where he is."

They looked at each other like talking with eyes if they should told her something or not.

"Just tell me whatever you know about Nop's whereabouts otherwise you will not be able to walk on your feet ever again."

"Umm he came to us yesterday. Give us some money took some stuff and left after that. We knew just this. We didn't have any idea that he is going somewhere." one of them told her with sincere voice.

"What stuff he took from you?" no one answer her question. "What did he took from you?" she repeated the question.

"Some stuff like...smoking stuff."

Sam rolled her eyes at their confession. After that she signal them to leave.

She knew she have to widen her range to search for Nop. She called all her trusty people to help her look for Nop and hope for the best.

Nop was captured in CCTV on a train station. That was the latest information Sam got from her informers.

This made clear that he left from Bangkok on train. She got all information about passengers who traveled that day by train and there was two Nop in that but both of them were not her brother.

Only one day left to the wedding day but there was no information about Nop's whereabouts and above all grandma has call her for a meeting.

"Did you found Nop already?"

On grandma's question Sam bowed her head. Grandma got her answer. She sighed and told her

"Pohn and Aon is here. Let's talk to them."

Sam nodded and followed her grandma to living room where Pohn and Aon was waiting for her with worried looks on their faces.

"Pohn, Mr. Aon, I have something important to tell you."

"What it is hon. lady. You suddenly called us....is everything okay?" Aon asked with a little hesitation.

Grandma looked at Sam and then at to be bride's worried parents. She knew that she have to tell them everything. Tomorrow is wedding day and even they find Nop today it would be not possible to bring him to wedding.

So with heavy heart and regretfully she told them everything.

"Wha....what are you saying Hon. Lady....what....we....." Aon was having problem in speaking after hearing grandma's words.

"I know it's hard for both of our family and i feel sorry..."

"Your sorry is not going to fix anything." Pohn said suddenly with anger. Her reaction surprised everyone present in the room.

"Pohn calm down......" Aon tried to calm his wife but she was crying and was red with anger.

"I can't....i can't......this can't happen to my Mon."

"Pohn i know you are Mon's mother and it is fair for you to feel anger and sadness but Mon is going to be okay. She is a brave girl." grandma tried to calm her.

"Yes...yes my daughter is very brave. She was always brave and she Is going to be okay. Like she was okay when people said that there is nothing good in her destiny. She was okay when people blame her bad luck for her biological father's death because she was born the day he died in an accident. She was okay when Aon's relatives accused her because he lost his job after he legally adopted her....she was okay every time people blame her destiny for anything bad happened to our family. She is so so brave, always smiling, laughing and making other smile too but I am....I am her mother. I had seen her crying at night...I had seen the pain that she can't hide behind her smile. Because she is so brave. But.. but how am I supposed to explain all this to her because I am not brave like her Hon. Lady. Your husband's promise is broken by your side but it's shards will prick my daughter's heart."

After speaking her heart out Pohn was breathing hard she sat down on couch.

After watching her condition Sam offer her a glass of water which she emptied in one sip.

"Pohn I promised my dying husband that I will fulfill his every wish, every promise and I have full intention to do that. My husband promised your father that Mon will became his grand daughter-in-law, that she will be an Anuntrakul and she will be but can you keep your father's side of promise?"

Grandma questioned them, both husband wife was looking at her with frowns on their faces. On other side Sam was also confused because she had no idea where grandma was going with that.

"I am giving you my words that the wedding will surely happen and it will happen tomorrow. That Mon will be my grand daughter-in-law, she will be an Anuntrakul but I want to know if you are ready to keep your father's promise?"

"What do you want to say hon. Lady, please be clear." Pohn said.

"The wedding is tomorrow and my granddaughter honorable lady Sam, the sole heiress of Anuntrakul Empire will marry your daughter Mon and make her an Anuntrakul legally."
