chapter 47

When we pulled into the drive way I see loads of cars and people partying outside.

"What's going on?" I ask

"I texted everyone that you were back and that we were throwing a party." Calum says. I look at him and smile even though I didn't want to party. I just wanted to hang out with them.
When we walk inside I see that the counter has various types of alcoholic drinks and snacks. Calum goes and pours him a drink and comes back to me. He snakes his arm around my waist and pulls me in to his side. All I can hear is the loud music and people laughing. Suddenly I feel Calum's lips near my ear

"I'm glad your home " he says as he kisses my Jaw line.

"Me too" I say.

After awhile I just sat on the couch. Calum was drunk and was dancing on the table as he screams the lyrics to Stacy's Mom by Fountain of Wayne.
Everyone had their red cups in the air cheering him on. I look around to see what was going on everywhere else. Mikey was in the corner with some girl and they were making out and Ashton was dancing in the living room as the girl with him laughed uncontrollably. I finally see Luke on the bottom step with Bailey in his arms as he pet her . Luke saw I was looking at him and came over.

"I'm guessing you don't like this either love" he says sitting next to me .

"no... I just wanted to hang out with my boys but when Calum told me about what he did with excitement in his eyes I couldn't say that" I say looking over to where Calum is still dancing .

"you know what... How about we blow this Popsicle stand and go chill at my place, Get away from all this" he says standing up. I stand up and link my arm with his and walk out.

When we get in the car I see Calum take a shot and dance in place as he finishes it.

"Let's roll" Luke says pulling out of the driveway. As we are driving he has Bailey in his lap.

"Hey,What's wrong ?" Luke asks.

"What do you mean ?" I ask

" you look upset Kat. Now what's going on?" He asks . I look and see the concern that fill his eyes

"nothing Luke, I promise you" I say giving him a half smile. He just nods then refocuses back on the road.

When we get back to his house I was warmly greeted by Liz.

" hey girly, long time no see" she says as she hugs me tightly.

"Yes Ma'am it has" I say letting out a little giggle.

"mum can we go now?' Luke asks impatiently.

"Lucas, That's no way to talk to your mum but yes"she says letting me go.

"Thank you " he says grabbing my arm and dragging me upstairs to his room.

When we walked in my eyes are automatically drawn to the Green day and Blink 182 posters .
" I know what your thinking 'wow what a geek' . Not like I haven't heard that a million times already" he says getting defensive.

"Luke, You of all people know wouldn't ever say that to someone... Especially you" I say. He begins to look at the floor.

"I know , I'm sorry " he says.

"Have you brought Destiny to meet your mom yet ?" I ask trying to change the subject.

"No, Not yet but I will soon." He says his lips turning into a small smile.

"She's a great girl and I love her to death..." I say

"but?" Luke says knowing there was more .

"but, I feel sometimes that I'll never be able to compare to her.She is pretty and smart and all this stuff... Don't get me wrong I love her and she's my friend more like sister but, I'm never going to be able to compete." I say sitting down on the window seat (didn't know exactly what they were called but you get the jist). I bring my knees to my chest and wrap my arms around my legs. Luke sat in front of me.

"Don't do that to yourself,  Please it hurts to see you Think of yourself like that" he says . I could hear his voice wavering.

"Why ?Luke, you know I'll never be what she is and I'll never be what someone needs" I say trying to hold the tears back. Luke brings my face up so I'm looking at him.

"Trust me Kat, You're everything Calum needs and more so stop doing this to me" he says letting a tear fall down. I bring my had up to his face and wipe the tear away.

" thank you Lukey" I say

" hey... You know that I don't like that and plus Destiny calls me that " he says smiling

" fine... Then your my little penguin " I say giggling

" yea.. I'm your little penguin." He whispers as he kisses my forehead

Wake up to see I was lying on Luke's lap. I sit up and fix my hair. As I do so I feel Luke shift his position . 'poor thing' I think. He had to sleep upright all night.
I lightly shake him.

" luke... Luke... little penguinnnnn" I say . As I say it he begins to smile.

" what is it ?" He asks.

" go lay down on your bed.. I'm about to leave cause I know that I'm going to have to clean the whole house" I say standing up.

" don't leave yet" he says.

" Luke I have to get home. You know you also live at my house so I'll see you later okay?" I say. He makes a thinking face. He smiles then says

" okay but give me a hug" he says as he pulls on his lip ring. I walk over to him and hug him. Man, how I missed this.

"Love ya" I say as I walk out and close his door.
