I woke up to a gentle shake, Ominis was grabbing my arms and urging me to wake up.
"Ominis?"
"Yes I'm here, you're alright, another nightmare?" He asked, concern filled his eyes which were wildly searching hoping to see the expression on my face.
"Hmm, yes I'm sorry, did I wake you again?"
He sat back on my bed, his hand gently gliding down my arm to meet mine. "I was already awake when I heard you from my room, I wish I could help the nightmares go away."
"You need not worry, a nightmare can't hurt me." I said watching his eyes fill with sadness hearing the hopelessness in my voice.
"Darling, are you al-!" He was about to say something else when Sebastian burst into my room. Both Ominis and I turned to look in his direction, I realized my nightgown was slightly open on the front and quickly covered up with my quilt.
"I'm sorry I heard sounds and ran over to make sure everything is fine. I didn't mean to interrupt." Sebastian stumbled on his words, his eyes darting away from my chest and down toward Ominis's hand holding mine.
"You weren't," I said, suddenly aware of Ominis's closeness. Sometimes I felt perhaps too comfortable around him, given that he could not see how little or not my body was dressed.
His face quickly turned pink though and he pulled his hand away, once again his other senses heightened and tuned into other's emotions, much better at reading us than those with the gift of sight could."I uhm... Well since everything's alright I'll go and start some morning tea for everyone." Ominis hurried out of the room and down the stairs to the kitchen.
Sebastian's stare lingered on him as he walked over and sat at the edge of my bed." Are you alright?" His eyes now piercingly staring into mine.
I let out a sigh and uttered a simple uhu.
"I'm sorry that you keep having those nightmares, I wish I could make them go away." My heart skipped a beat.
"Both you and Ominis share that sentiment," I blushed and looked down at my quilt fidgeting with a loose string on it, attempting to avoid Sebastian's intense look.
I could feel the tension in his body. My own arms struggled to stay where they were rather than reach for him, for Ominis. I wanted to be stronger than I felt.
Sebastian reached over and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, I couldn't help but look back at him, his face now closer to mine. "You can always tell me, or Ominis really, about anything. You know that right?"
I did, my heart almost leapt out of my chest, all I managed was a minor nod.
He stood up from my bed and lingered by the door, "Get dressed, we've got some errands to run in town." He smiled and walked down the hall toward the stairs.
I finally managed to catch my breath, being so close to either of them made me feel like I got swept up into the sky by a hippogriff, every time.
