"So... Where did you say you found these books again?" I pushed Sebastian again, the books he'd brought over to the common room looked awfully... Restricted.

"Oh you know, just looking about..." He continued to avoid eye contact with me as he buried his nose in another book.

"Looking about in the restricted section perhaps?" I poked his ribs trying to force an answer out of him but he didn't budge.

"Sebastian, I don't know why you won't just ask us for help when you run your schemes." Ominis rolled his eyes and threw his feet on the coffee table while he grabbed another book to review with his reader.

"Sebastian!" I nagged.

"Merlin, you are taking your head boy responsibilities too seriously Ominis, must you snitch on me always? It's bad enough you can read my feelings so easily, you don't have to announce them." Sebastian threw a pillow at Ominis, which he easily dodged.

"Sebastian, we've told you over and over to let us know if you're planning on doing something stupid. At least we can brush off any prefects if you get caught." Ominis insisted while still going through the book in his hand.

"Oh please, you think a perfect will catch me? My concern is running into stupid Peeves, he would let the whole school know by morning that Weasley's head boy and head girl are sneaking around around the castle after hours abusing their power. Black would have your heads and kick you to the pens." Sebastian said.

"What about Scribner? That woman never sleeps, she's bound to run into you at some point while you're sneaking around. You've been working so hard to do well, why ruin it now?" Sebastian could do great, when he applied himself. I was so proud of the work he had done over the last year, I didn't want to see it go to waste.

"I can deal with Scribner, I'll simply tell her that I am indeed doing so well in my lessons that I got bored and decided to find something, a little more, challenging. " Sebastian puffed his chest out like a jobberknoll.

"Suuuure you tell her that, I'm sure Sharp would be happy to make our potions NEWTs ever more complicated. " Ominis flung the book he had picked up before as he rolled his eyes at Sebastian again.

"Hey, I think I found something!" Sebastian said as he came over and sat next to Ominis and me to show us the book he'd been reading.

"It's just a passage, but there is a description of a location, a platform? It talks about a specific repeating event, and the runes on the drawing of the platform...they look like the runes you described from some of the keepers trial locations. Take a look! "

Sebastian handed me the book, the passage read:
Once again, blue lightning struck the center of the platform. A whipping thunder pierced the hills, the trees shook in response. The skies were and still remain clear. What can summon such power and can it be wielded?

"Of course, leave it to all these magic researchers to write that as the last passage on their book." Ominis complained as he leaned back and threw his arms behind his head.

"Well, perhaps he got to close to the platform to investigate and was struck by a bolt." Sebastian joked.

Had that wizard indeed met a faith similar to those miserable souls in my nightmares? If so, it was really no joking matter.

"Well, should we go to the hills and see if we can find this platform? " Sebastian said as he gently elbowed my ribs.

"Ugh, that sounds an awful lot like what you used to say back in 5th year before you got us into some trouble." I said as I went to sit next to Ominis. "Besides, I said I wanted to stay away from ancient magic, this is quite the opposite of that." I threw the book on the coffee table and laid my head on Ominis's chest, he wrapped his arm around me.
