"Merlin, divination is always so ... Vague! How does anyone make anything out of this gobbledegook?" Ominis threw his arms in the air as his copy of 'Dream Oracle' fell off of his lap.
"Well, if Ominis can't make heads or tails of this I'm fucked." Sebastian said slamming his book shut and turning to look at me.
"Well don't look at me either, I'm the one having the nightmares and I couldn't begin to tell you the meaning of them." I exclaimed, throwing my copy of 'What to do when you know the worse is coming' on the floor too.
Ominis started rubbing his temples, "Perhaps a fourth wand might help? Why don't we talk to Natty, she's brilliant with divination. She may be able to help."
"No way! I'm not getting anyone else involved in all of this troll dung. We nearly died on our last trip. That's the second death encounter I've had this year. I'm not risking getting someone else wrapped up in this nonsense." I laid flat on the floor of our common room. Not a dust bunny in sight under the couch. Deek was excellent at house keeping.
"Oh fuck, I'm going to be late for ancient runes, I have to go. I'll be back for dinner." Sebastian said as he quickly threw his things in his bag and ran out of the common room.
"Sebastian wait!" I chased after him, he stopped halfway down the stairs.
He stopped and turned to me, "What is it?"
"I uh..." I cleared my throat, "I got you this." I flushed a bit as I handed him a scandalous polaroid of myself in the skimpy lingerie set I'd worn on his birthday. Minus the thong.
"Oh, Merlin!" He exclaimed. "How..?"
"A witch has got her ways." I said biting my lip. The room of requirement always provides.
"Thank you!" He kissed my cheek and quickly reached into his bag to find his field notebook and stuck the picture in-between pages. "I love you." He said with a huge smile on his face.
"And I you. Now go!" I said remembering he was already late.
I heard him screaming curses as he ran down the stairs.
When I came back into the common room Ominis was fully concentrated on another divination book. His eyebrows were knit together.
"Anything?" I asked as I knealt on the floor next to him and laid my head on his lap.
"Hmm. Nothing that isn't vague. Perhaps, your ancient magic is trying to isolate you? Hence everyone dying, in some way, by your hand. But why? And how? Is it ... Sentient? That's doesn't really make sense, at least not from what you've learned through the keepers. "
"Well, with Isidora and Ranrok the ancient magic became corrupted. It turned dark and it became an obsession for them. But I never heard anything from the keepers or their memories in regards to nightmares or their power taking over them in some way." I let out a big sigh and closed my eyes. Ominis started combing his fingers through my hair.
"Don't worry my love, we will figure this out, together." I reached for his hand and kissed it.
"Together." I repeated.

After dinner Ominis, Sebastian and I worked on our studies as we laid about the common room tangled up on each other.
"Aaaagh, I can't do this anymore." Sebastian said as he dropped his ancient runes book on his face letting more groans and curses out.
"Sallow, please be quiet. Some of us are actually trying to focus." Ominis said gently tapping Sebastian's head with his foot.
