Ch. 5: Unveiling the Secrets

My gaze fixed at the calender. It's Tuesday morning, my blood boiled as soon as I remember it's a school day. I can't wait to graduate, schools are just like vampires, bloodsuckers.

The clanking of metals downstairs annoyed me. Kay was fixing her bicycle this early. I moved to the window, but instead of seeing Kay, I saw Nick. Nick is Kay's boyfriend, or what Kay always wished. The eyes moping at me like he was hitting the metals to bring me to the window.

"Hello Miss" he said grinning from ear to ear.

I quickly looked in, breathed heavily and looked out again, but he wasn't there anymore. I ran out of the room to look for Kendra. On getting to the sitting room, I saw the guy sitting and actually conversing with Kendra.

She turned and looked at me when she noticed his eyes were fixed at me.

"Hey babe" she said and gestured to come forward, "This is Nick"

I walked over, still wondering what he was doing here.

"Hi... Nick" I said back looking over his shoulders outside the window. "I have to prepare for school" I said and left.

"Okay" she said and resumed her position in front of Nick.

"Un-fucking-believable" I whispered to myself as I closed the door behind me. What was he doing here? Does Kay know he's a vampire?

I quickly took a shower and dressed for school, only to get to the sitting room and see absolutely no-one there.

What?

Then I heard rustling of leaves from outside, looking over I saw Nick and Kay walking towards the gate leading to the forest.

I always suspected Nick to be a vampire. I always suspected that every strange person, was a vampire. My bad, but Nick was strange, even though.... Never mind.

I dropped my bags and quietly followed them. He led them right to the mansion, the one I was trapped in. I knew that Kay knew what he was, but what has love done to her. Wait, manipulation. He manipulated her. Vampires can do that.

But he didn't take her into the mansion, they sat in front of the mansion, in front of two cars. Then I saw another guy walk out with a girl, and Phina. Phina!

Then everything started to change, Kay started feeling uneasy. They started holding her tight, even when she wanted to leave. Then Nick held her head slantly letting Phina bite her neck, she sucked of her and stopped, and the other three followed suit, playing the game, till I watched my friend get weak and die. Die? Kay was dead.

Kendra was a good friend but not a great roommate. We fought almost everytime in our lives but she still cared, I loved her.

I held my hand over my mouth that I do not scream and tears flowed out of my eyes. I was shocked, dumbstruck, angry, sad, everything that was negative in this world. But deep down I didn't care about what will happen to me, or did I? Because when I was trying to run out to actually save myself, my leg happened to meet a stick and broke it in halves.

They looked in my direction now.

I took to my heels and fled as fast as I could, but, I should have known better, vampires are always faster. They caught up to me.

Then I didn't know Phina.. I only know that we attended the same school and at that time, I was dealing with my sexuality and I had a thing for Nick.

"Nick" was the only thing I said, wanting him to believe I was shocked, but like I always said, I should have known better.

"Oh, don't play dumb. You followed me here" he said and walked closer. With every step he took closer, I took each same step farther.

"You killed her"

"Who is she? Nick" the other guy asked.

"It's no-one Asher" he said holding his hands in a stop motion "go home, I'll meet you guys" he said and turned to them now.

They looked at him suspiciously and ran off leaving just the two of us, in the middle of the forest. I was scared.

"What did you see?" he asked and caught my hands, pulling me closer with his fingers dug deep in my waist.

"N--n--nothing. I didn't see anything" was the only thing I could spit out. Tears rolled down my cheeks and my stomach rumbled for fear that I might suffer the same fate as Kay.

"Don't be scared sunshine. I wont harm you" his words echoed in my head over and over again.
"You like me don't you?" he said and wiped off my cheeks with the back of his hands and drew close to my ears and whispered. "I like you too, you know" then he looked at me.

I gasped for breath, I was overwhelmed with joy and sadness at the time.

He leaned over till I could feel his breath on my lips, he was so close, I closed my eyes expecting his kiss, but then I couldn't feel his breath again. I opened my eyes and saw him smiling.

"You want this" he said and left me. "that's interesting to know"

Then he grabbed my waist and pulled me closer roughly, looking at my lips and at my eyes again, he pressed his lips onto mine, his hand brushing against my cheek, his touch tender and electric. I closed my eyes, savoring the sensation, as his fingers traced a path down my jawline, leaving a trail of longing in our wake.

My lips parted slightly, inviting him closer. He leaned in, his breath mingling with mine, the anticipation building with each passing second. I gasped at the pleasure as he nibbled on my neck and kissed back to my lips.

The kiss deepened, our bodies drawing closer as if pulled by an invisible force. My heart swelled with a mixture of excitement and vulnerability. I wrapped my arms around him, pulling him closer, craving his touch.

I broke the kiss, our eyes locked, a silent conversation within myself.

"This is your roommates boyfriend"

"Not anymore, she's dead" another me said back.

Then he snapped his fingers, bringing me back to life. I didn't know what else to do, I ran out of there only to find myself in front of the apartment door again.

I opened it and my mouth dropped in shock again.

Kay was there, sitting on the couch again, TV on and popcorn on her laps, looking at me and saying...

"Really girl, really"

"Kay!"
