Max's POV

I was standing in line when shot's were fired I got down and made my way towards the front desk. When I got there a man was on the ground with a woman standing over him I went over and took of my hoodie and place it over the gun wounds. I got up to go to a shelf to get some things that's when I feel a pain in my chest I fall to the ground. Everything started to get cold. I heard someone yelling "Chicago pd" I turned my head to see "Jay" he turned around and ran to me "oh my god max hang on" "how is the man" he looks at the area the man and woman are "the paramedics are with them" I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding "that's good, that's good. Everything is get so col cold" he put his jacket on my gun shot wounds "hold on max just stay with me"

"You love so handsome Jay Halstead" he looked at me in the eyes "don't give up Max ok I love you" he kissed me on the lips I felt my cheeks warm up "I love you too"

2 hours later

Jay's POV

We had been sitting in the waiting room Hank was doing one of his famous speeches but I wasn't listening to him "family of Max voight" we all got up and made are way over to the doctor "he was every lucky that's all I can say" I looked at the doctor "can we go see him" she looks down "he needs his rest" I got a bit mad "what he need is to see his family" she said "follow me" I was right on her heals not wanting to wait no more

Max's POV

I had my eyes closed just resting them when I heard foot steps walking in I felt them all looking at me I opened my eyes to see my big family "hey" my voice was a bit rough but I knew that would happen. Kim was right to my bed hugging me I let her hug me then dad came up to me and as soon as he hugged me I whisper in his ear asking about the man and woman who I was trying to help "I'm sorry son he didn't make it" that broke my heart a bit "what about the woman and her baby" he looked down at the ground "dad please tell me" he had tears in his eyes "the baby didn't make it son" I was in complete shock not only did that woman lose her parker but her baby too. "I need a minute" everyone left my room except for Jay. He walked up to my bed and pulled me into a hug and I just cried "that woman shouldn't have to go through that" he placed a kiss on top of my head "I know, I know" we stayed like this for a few minutes before Jay went and let everyone in my room again "I want yous to find the bastards who did this and make them pay" everyone nodded then dad walked up to me and whispered "when we get them me and you will do what me and Al did to them" I give him a nod he walked out it was just me and Jay in the room. He came and sat down on my bed "did you mean what you said in the store" he looked in my eyes "I love you Max I want to be with you I know I need Erin gone and everytime she is around there's going to be hell" I pulled him into a kiss. When we pulled away I leaned my forehead against his "me and you against the world" he chuckled a little bit before coping my words "me and you against the world" I kissed him one more time "go and get these bustards" he got up and walked away I leaned back on my bed closing my eyes to get some much needed relax

Later that night

I was watching some TV waiting for some people to bring me my tea but they were running late. On the news people had found out about famous Max voight getting shot in a store helping people the head line was "is he alive or is he dead" the gang walked in to hear the head line they turned the TV off "you don't need to here that" I looked at Adam "I was going to change it over to the music channel before you turned it off" he laughed "so you could see if your music was on the TV right" I slapped him in the face "I may have just been shot more than three times but I still know how to whip your ass boy don't mess with me" dad was laughing "that's my boy" Jay had put mine and his food on the table me sat on my bed and put an arm over my shoulders I leaned into his warmth "did one of yous pick me up my guitar and some clothes" I look around the group Jay spoke up before i started yelling at the peaces of shit they are "I got it all it's down in the truck so we could eat tea first come on eat up" I was the last one to finish my tea because I wasn't that hungry I don't eat much so what I don't eat I save it for later.  Jay had left when I was all most finished but now he was back with a bag and my guitar. I went start for the guitar
