"Shinobu."

I feel myself shivering when I heard my father's voice again.

It has been several months since I have interacted with him... the last time was before my wedding day.

"Father." yet, I still bowed with respect.

I heard him hissed silently. He then entered the main mansion together with two of his butlers.

What is he doing here?

"Prepare tea for me and my daughter." he ordered, specifically to Oliver.

But I noticed that he didn't move, he didn't even look at my father. He stood there with his head down.

"Di you not hear what I've said?" Father turned to Oliver.

The young butler gave him a blank expression, which surprised me.

I have never seen him with that face! But then it vanished and was replaced by a small yet sarcastic looking smile.

"Forgive me, My Lord... I only answer to the Duke and Duchess of the North."

...

I looked at Father instantly, he was staring at Oliver with an angry expression then soon turned to me.

"Have you no respect?!" my father banged his walking stick onto the floor creating a loud echo sound!

"Father!" I exclaimed.

Him and his temper!

"How dare a mere butler look at me with such confidence and refuse to serve a Lord!?" he was fuming mad and he looked like he wants to explode.

"Father, enough!" I looked at him, with furrowed brows and serious tone.

This is the Northern Territory.

The Duke's Territory and his Mansion.

Oliver, the head butler who only follows the command of the Duke and Duchess of the North.

"Oliver, can you please prepare a late night tea for me and my father?" I turned to Oliver.

With a polite smile and calm expression, he bowed only to me and headed out together with the butlers and servants.

"Tss..." my father hissed.

"How dare he." he sulked like a child, I heave no attention and let us inside the drawing room.

Upon arriving, I let him sit to where he likes. I only took a sit across him, on the single sofa.

Not feeling any comfort.

"hah~: he looked around, crisscrossing his legs and put his stick down to his side.

"Living the life I gave you" he smirked.

I secretly rolled my eyes and just sat properly.

'You seem to have forgotten to write to your family when you married that duke." Father coldly stated.

The tea is now being served, yet he have it like he isn't sitting on the couch of the Duke.

"Where is that duke? already leaving you here?" he asked once more.

I only sipped my tea quietly, and it seems like he doesn't like it.

"You keep on ignoring your father ever since I stepped in here?! what is wrong with you!?"

"Oliver... please leave us." I calmly commanded.

Oliver was surprised but he only nodded silently, gathering all the servants and closing the door as they leave.

"Hah~ look at you... ordering around" my father pointed out as if he was so amuse.

He stood up with his stick and roamed around the room.

"What is it that you want father?" I didn't hesitate anymore.

I heard the man lowly laughed, and I saw him in my peripheral vision he took a picture frame and looked at it.

"You know what I want" he smirked.

"Father-"

"What?? I am the reason why you are standing in here, so high and with grace! with expensive and lavishing clothing and jewelries! Now I order you to give me what I want!"

"I never asked you to give me this father! NO!" I shouted back.

No!

"How dare you! I am your father!" he beamed.

"And I am you daughter!"

"I am the Lady of the North! You stood inside the grounds of the North!"

"The grounds my husband rules." I stated.

He smugly stepped away and laughed. "Pathetic."

"Just like your mother and sisters"

What?

"What did you do?" I looked at him, seriously.

With a glare, I asked once more. "What did you do?!"

"What I had to! You have one job, Shinobu! One job!" he warned.

But shakenly disagree. "I asked you! What did you do to Kanae!"

Father only fixed himself and took the tea near the table. He brush off the invisible dust in his clothes and smirked.

"You know that consequences of ungrateful and rude children."

He then waved and warned.

"I will take my leave, now."

"Kanao will me next, my child."

He went out the drawing room.

I rushed out and tried to catch up on him, but when I arrived at the main entrance my father was already entering his carriage.

I stared at the carriage whoosh away, as dirt erupted through the pathway.
