32-Truth within a Myth

If things were tense before, this was another level. It wasn't because we didn't care for Juliet, but I had grown up in this pack. Previously, we had to keep Jimin calm and were able to keep a calm head. Now, I was surrounded by people who had watched me grow up, struggle through the loss of my parents, and move forward. When Yoongi heard, his reaction was almost as intense as my mates which didn't surprise me.

"I'LL KILL HIM!" Yoongi yelled in my living room later that night. There was a rainbow of emotions on Taehyung's face before the rage returned. Slight relief that his mate wasn't in immediate danger, guilt that I replaced it, and then the anger that one of his closest friends was trying to be used for power.

"What does he expect to gain? You have your mates, and the pack knows you are our next leaders. If it was a year ago maybe but now?" Hobi thought out loud. We gathered everyone at our house to tell them of Marshall's demands. All the Alphas were trying to hold back their anger except for Namjoon. He was deep in thought, his mind far from this room, as he sat in the corner. I wanted to ask him of his opinion but didn't want to interrupt his thoughts. Jin saw where my focus was and sat next to his mate. Namjoon only acknowledged Jin when he placed his hand on his knee.

"What is it, Joon?" Jin asked softly but had still gained the attention of the room. His pensive looked remained as he spoke.

"I'm trying to figure out what he could be thinking. You are right by saying that they are her mates and... holding her hostage would do no good." Namjoon edited his thoughts, knowing that the alphas in the room and Jungkook were already on edge. Hobi had sat between Jin and Juliet to calm them due to the effect the overwhelming pheromones and dominance were having on the omegas. "Because of that I'm positive there must be another angle. I have heard tales of a third party trying to break a bond due to their obsession with one of the partners. Most are written as stories and focus on how the love of the mates have overcome the challenge. Though in my experience, there are always some truths hidden in a tale."

"You mean there could be a possibility of Marshall breaking their mate bond?" Juliet asked in shock. At this, the room froze. 

"Have there been any evidence or this speculation?" Yoongi asked, his fists clenching.

"This topic was brought to my attention by Soobin-"

"You are basing all of this on a paper from a student?! We are talking about an actual threat, not some theory!" Yoongi yelled. Namjoon's eyes flashed red as he stared Yoongi in the eye.

"Soobin is more than a simple student. He has worked by my side since his second year in university, a time where most are still trying to decide a major. He is planning to continue his education to at least a Master's degree to use his knowledge for a career. If he were to apply for anything, I would support him 100% and give any recommendations he may need. This matter involves people I consider family. I would not base this decision on a passing paper." Namjoon growled, slowly standing up as he spoke directly to Yoongi. Jimin and Tae moved in front of the us as neither appeared to be calming down. Their eyes remained red but body language opposites. Yoongi was breathing heavily with his turning white from how tight he was clenching them. He was leaning forward as though he was ready to pounce. Namjoon stood tall, breath calm, and arms crossed over his chest. This was an Alpha showdown that did not look like it was going to stop. There was only two people that could end it and luckily one was in the room. 

At the same time, Jungkook and I placed a hand somewhere on Jimin. We were giving him the strength and reassurance he needed. Jimin gave a small nod and stepped forward, his eyes slowly becoming red. Yoongi and Namjoon began stomping towards the other when Jimin stepped in.

"ENOUGH." Jimin spoke loudly, not yelling, but the power behind it obvious. The older Alphas showed physical reactions. Their heads shaking and arms slightly reacting but not completely. They at least blinked. "STOP IT. NOW!" Jimin added the last part with the most power we have heard. Everyone in the room reacted, thankfully that included Yoongi and Namjoon. Juliet, Jin, and Hobi were clutching each other but bowing forward, heads to their knees, immediately. Jungkook and I presented our necks, his mark pointed in his direction, holding on to each other. All the Alphas turned to Jimin and bowed a full 90 degrees.
