|January 14|

I had lived in El Salvador my whole life, born there and raised there, just like the rest of my family.

My mom became a single mom after my father left us for a much younger women, which seems quite impossible, or shall I say illegal? My mom is 26 she had me at 12, yes very young I know, but it wasn't her choice, she didn't wanna have me and abortion wasn't an option, we're Catholic.

But everyday she reminds me she made the right choice by keeping me.

As for my father I have no idea where he is now and have no interest in finding out.

But right now my mom just got a new job in Germany, freaking Germany.

"Mamá no quiero ir!" I cried to my mom

"Hurry up we're gonna be late" my mom said as she dragged me out of bed

"our plane is leaving in 2 hours you need to get ready. Now." her voice was serious, not too loud but enough to startle me.

I quickly got up and started getting ready, I wasn't too excited about moving to Germany, my whole life was in El Salvador, how could I ever leave that behind? My mother was young and beautiful, and could never turn down the job offer she got in Germany. Life there was much better than it would ever be in El Salvador, she only wants the best for her only daughter.

I loved my mother, I really did, she's given me everything she could ever since my dad left. But making me leave my whole life behind? That was just cruel.

I wasn't too excited about leaving I didn't even speak the language, every so often my mom would talk to me in German, she always talked about moving to Germany and getting a job there. I never payed much attention to that, every time she spoke German to me I pretended to not hear her, now I wished I would've at least listened to what she was saying...

But on the bright side I'll be moving across the globe, new life, but most importantly new friends. Yea I was gonna miss my friends in El Salvador but the only thing on my mind were those tall German boys, I mean it's not like I'd like to date one, of course not! I'm only 14, but I couldn't deny it, Germans were cuteeee.

I giggled at the thought of a tall German boy towering over me.

"What are you laughing about? Thinking of those cute Germans hmm?" said my mom while smirking and raising her eyebrows. It's like she could read my mind..

"No!" I think my nervousness might have told her the real answer to that question, we laughed it off and I continued fantasizing the whole way to the airport.

As we got on the plane I could see how happy my mom was to finally leave that hell hole, I loved El Salvador, but it wasn't the best country to raise a kid in.

I wasn't as excited as her but seeing a smile on her face brought one to mine. Everyone left in El Salvador didn't matter, I was happy my mom was happy, she was the only person I needed.

The flight was peaceful. except for the fact some random dude threw up on some lady's dog, I couldn't help but giggle as the lady cussed him out.

Soon enough we were in Germany, we got our luggages and left the airport.

"Well, what do you think?" my mom said with a big smile on her face

"I love it" I gave her a weak smile back. I wasn't ready to leave El Salvador, but Germany was a beautiful country, I was grateful my mom brought me here.

"I'm glad you like it! We have to work in your German though"

"Yea yea I know" I rolled my eyes as we both got in the car.

I was exhausted, when we got home I ran as fast as I could and threw myself on the couch, my mom joined me and we fell asleep there.

I felt my mom hit my knee in an attempt to wake me up, unfortunately, it worked "Honey you start school in two days!" she smiled at me

"Two days?!"

"Mhm, aren't you excited?" her tone was cheerful, it always was, my mom was a very positive person

"What the heck, no why would I be? It's school"

"Are you not excited to go to a new school? Who knows you may find a special someone" she winked

"Mom!"

she laughed and I couldn't help but laugh too

"I knew it! You're excited to find a cute German!"

"Mom stop!"

suddenly I hear the doorbell ring, looking like a mess I opened the door and saw 2 boys standing in front of my house.

Lmk if this is too short for a chapter, but I felt like that was a perfect spot to stop at 😽
