"Your hair looks nice up. Like that, or whatever you did to it." Dallas smiled.

I paused for a moment and looked at him.

He smiled softly, as he waited for my response.

"Ponytail," I chuckled as I turned on the hot water on the sink, "it's called a ponytail."

"Ponyboy?" Dallas joked, stepping next to me at the sink.

"Nooooo, ponytail." I giggled, adding dish soap to the water as the sink filled up.

Dallas jokingly cupped his hand around his ear, as if he couldn't hear me.

"All I'm hearing is Ponyboy." Dallas chuckled.

I took a hand full of soapy water and splashed it all over the front of him.

"Do it again, and I'll dunk you in the skink." Dallas tried to speak sternly, but a small laugh escaped his lips as he spoke.

...

Over the next few hours Dallas and I did house work.

We did the dishes, about 4 loads of laundry, swept and mopped the kitchen, and vacuumed the living room.

Along with picking up misplaced items that were scattered around the house.

...

"Who the hell leaves a fucking wrench in the kitchen?" Dallas rolled his eyes as he picked the wrench up, and placed it on the table.

"That would be soda, he always leaves tools all over.   Ponyboy leaves charcoal pencils and coins, and Darry leaves the morning paper in a different spot everyday." I smiled.

"What else do we have to do, sweetheart?" Dallas walked over to me, and put his arm around my shoulders.

"Nothing.  I think we did it all." I sighed with relief.

"Perfect." Dallas quickly picked me up, and sat me on top of the counter top.

He placed his hands behind my neck, and smashed his lips into mine.

Dallas kissed me long and roughly.

The more he kissed me, the more my body begged for more.

The more my body begged for his.

That's when he heard the front door slam shut.

Dallas and I jumped at the sound.

There stood Ponyboy, with his mouth wide open.

Fuck

I don't think he knew what to do.

He sort of froze in his place for a moment, before he moved out of the way of the door, so the others could come in.

I quickly jumped down, and ran over to the door.

I nearly jumped onto Johnny as he entered, wrapping my arms around him tightly.

"We did it." Johnny hugged me back.

"Obviously, otherwise you two wouldn't be standing here." I replied.

I ran to Ponyboy and hugged him.

"I'm glad you're ok!" I told him.

Ponyboy swallowed hard, and gave me a little nod.

He still had an unsure look on his face.

Ponyboy then stepped away, and went outside on the porch.

Johnny followed him outside.

Soda, Steve, and Darry got changed and went to work.

Twobit went home.

Leaving me with Dallas, Johnny and Ponyboy.

"What do we do now?" Dallas sighed, running his hands through his hair.

"Just chill." I replied, as I stood before him.

"No, about.... him." Dallas gestured at Ponyboy, who was smoking outside.

You could see him talking with Johnny.

"If you're that worried, I'll go talk to him." I looked at Dallas.

"Yeah, do that." Dallas nodded, before he plopped down on the couch.

I could feel nervousness grow throughout my stomach, as I slowly walked outside by the two of them.

I light a cigarette, and stood between the two of them.

They both stared at me silently.

"You two forget how to speak?" I joked, taking a long drag from my cigarette.

"Why?" Ponyboy quickly blurted out.

Before I could even talk, he spoke again.

"Don't even try to lie either, I saw what I saw."

"When have I ever lied to you, Ponyboy?" I asked him in a serious tone.

Ponyboy thought for a second.

"Never," he looked over his shoulder at Dallas. Who was still sitting on the couch,"but I don't want you to say something not true... because someone's listening."

"Let's go into the backyard then." I shrugged my shoulders.

"I'll leave you to it then, cuz man I wanna sit down." Johnny smiled, as he went inside by Dallas.

Ponyboy and I walked around to the back yard.

We sat down on the ground against the house.

"I just don't get it. You were in my room crying about him being an asshole just the other night, now you're kissing him." Ponyboy spoke quickly.

I took another long drag from my cigarette.

"I don't get it either, Ponyboy." I sighed.

"No! You're just saying that because I'm 14.   You think I'm too young and don't know nothing about anything!" Ponyboy argued.

"I think you're pretty grown. I think you're more mature than the other's, and I think you know that too. I talk to you and Johnny about everything, because you two are the ones I trust.   I don't think you're just a kid, Ponyboy." I spoke truthfully.

Ponyboy gave me a smile, and placed his arm around my shoulder.

I think Ponyboy just wanted to be treated like the person he was, and not the kid that the other guys treated him.

"What was it like? I ain't never kissed anyone, and neither has Johnny." Ponyboy giggled at his own question.

I couldn't help but laugh too.

"It was alright. You know you think of some pretty goofy questions." I chuckled, finishing my cigarette.

"You wanna split a Pepsi with me?" I asked Ponyboy as the two of us stood up, and began walking back towards the house.

"Yeah, only if you pour yours in a cup.  I'm not drinking from a bottle with you...  I know where your mouth has been." Ponyboy joked.
