...
Later that evening everyone gathered at the Curtis house to have a little party.
Could have been to celebrate Ponyboy and Johnny winning their trial, or anything under the sun.
The whole gang knew that none of us were going to vote against the party.
Plus, I wanted to get drunk.
I'm not one to pass on drinking.
...
Soda and steve were arm wrestling on the counter, like they always do.
You would think they would find something better to do than arm wrestling all the time.
Darry, who had worked all day, was sitting in his chair in the living room relaxing.
The rest of us, we're sitting in a circle in the living room, with a half full bottle of vodka in the center.
Dallas and Johnny sat on both sides of me.
We were playing truth or drink.
Which is pretty self explanatory, you go around the circle in order and ask someone a question. It could be any question to anyone in the the circle. They can answer the question truthfully, or take a swig from the bottle.
"Twobit," Ponyboy spoke up, "have you ever kissed a girl?"
"Yes, I have a girlfriend." Twobit chuckled.
"Yeah, her name is Kathy." I laughed.
Ponyboy stared blankly, as if he forgot the question he had asked.
I mean, we were all pretty tipsy at this point.
We did drink a half a bottle of vodka in like half an hour.
Twobit turned to Dallas.
"How about you, Dallas? How many people have you kissed?" Twobit laughed.
Dallas smiled, as he ran his hand through his hair.
"One, but... I've kissed them a thousand times." Dallas’s words sort of slurred together at the end.
Man, I think we were all more than tipsy at this point.
"Yeah, a little more than kissing too." Johnny covered his mouth instantly.
His face immediately filled with regret, as those words slipped from his mouth.
When Johnny is drunk, he doesn't think about what he's saying... until after it came out.
I would have expected this from Twobit, but not Johnny.
The room grew silent, I could feel the expression drain from my face.
I could feel Darry staring at me, but I didn't dare move a muscle.
"Ten more minutes, then you guys need to go to bed." Darry spoke sternly, as he got up and walked to his bedroom.
Steve Randle had gotten up now. He walked to the center of our circle, and picked up the bottle.
"I'll do you one better," Steve took a long drag from the vodka bottle, as he looked down to Dallas and I, "how long have you two been fucking?"
I stood up and ripped the bottle from Steve's hand, before taking a long drink from it.
The two of his stared long and hard at each other.
"I'll take this." Johnny took the bottle from my hand, and walked it back over to the fridge.
"Steve, stop." Soda grabbed his arm, and tried to pull him away.
Steve ripped his arm from Soda's grip.
"It's had to be going on for a few years at least." Steve spat.
Drunk Steve reminded me of my father in all the wrong ways.
"You two always seem to disappear for a while.... then... magically reappear. I guess I'm the only that has ever paid attention." Steve's eyes narrowed at me.
Dallas stood up tall, he placed his arm over me, and pulled me behind him.
"Leave her alone, Steve." Dallas spoke in a deep, low voice.
"I didn't know you spoke for her too." Steve scuffed at Dallas.
Dallas was visibility angry, as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Don't you dare take her kindness for weakness. You know for a fact that she won't argue back, that's why you always do this. Thats why you always give her shit, man. I'm not her, I will say something." Dallas’s voice grew louder and louder.
God, everyone was staring... just waiting for what was gonna happen next.
"Oh yeah?!" Steve argued.
"Yeah, and you wanna know what?" Dallas looked down to Steve, as he stepped even closer to him, "I fucked her this morning in the shower. And, I fucked her on your bed last new year's eve party. On. Your. Fucking. Bed." Dallas spoke through gritted teeth.
Oh.
My.
Fucking.
God.
I closed my eyes and covered my ears, I expected them to start swinging on each other.
"Ahhhhh!" Ponyboy gagged, "I took a shower after Dallas!"
"Oh, get over it! I've done it on your bed before." Dallas told Ponyboy.
Soda began laughing, until... he remembered he shares a bed with Ponyboy.
Well, then Soda started laughing again... because he still thought the whole situation was hilarious.
I on the other hand didn't.
I wanted to drop dead right then and there.
Twobit and Johnny picked up on how uncomfortable I was, and quickly pulled me outside.
"Here, it'll help settle your nerves." Twobit lit a cigarette for me.
I took a long drag, as my eyes welded with tears.
"I didn't mean to say that." Johnny blurted out.
He looked like he was gonna cry too.
"It's alright, Johnny." I spoke quietly.
Twobit gave me a reassuring pat on the back.
Twobit let out a small chuckle, before he spoke again.
"Did you really fuck on Steve's bed?"
I couldn't help but laugh a little.
"Yup, I bet that's the last time he calls me a bitch." I smiled satisfyingly, as I took another long drag from my cigarette.
