Chapter 2
When I arrived, the house was quite secluded. Changkyun opened the door. I popped the trunk of my car open. He smiled taking my hand spinning me around.
"Gemma..." he mused.
"Oh, stop it." I pushed him playfully.
"I love you, and your attitude." He smirked pulling me into his lips. I missed this, I missed him.
Once I settled in the house, I smelt a familiar scent. When I turned around it was Changkyun coming out of our room, he had my favorite flowers in his hand.
"I was at the market picking up some groceries, when I seen the gardenias, and I couldn't help but think of you." He smiled.
I suddenly felt so shy, it was always the little things that meant the most to me. He placed them in a vase, I walked over towards them, smells their sweet scent.
"Thank you, you really are the sweetest." He chuckled, placing his hands on my hips.
"I'm only sweet towards you. We both will be getting to see the real sides of us after this week, but what won't change is how I treat you." I turned around running my fingers through his hair.
"I haven't seen you for a week. That's the longest we've been apart. I missed you...and if we are going to have a serious conversation, I would like to have it in a few days." I kissed him tenderly, he pressed his body against mine, kissing me back.
"I missed you too, the week felt like a year." he smiled, picking me up.
carrying me to the bedroom.
We spent those first three days together.
On the fourth day, he slid behind me while I was reading The Odyssey, I leaned against his chest, turning the page of the book. He wrapped his arms around my stomach.
"You don't know how much I want this to be our normal." He kissed my head; he was always at peace when he and I were together. I put the book down, kissing his cheek.
"There's something you aren't telling me, do you have a secret, that you've
been keeping from me?" He sighed, resting his chin on my shoulder.
"I was hoping my father would call it off. .I want to be with you...there is no one else that I crave." his voice was sad, even frustrated. I let him continue.
"After this week, I'm getting married." I tensed, I went to move away, but his hold tightened.
"If we had stayed in Italy longer it would have been postponed, but my father found out I was back, and he made the arrangements despite me disagreeing with him. We can still see each other; I will find a way to end the marriage. I just need to wait it out. I scowled. I would not be a mistress to the enemy at that.
"Baby, I've been alone with her. She doesn't do anything for me...it's going to be a sexless marriage; you would be the only woman I would be fucking." He was trying to comfort me with that. No.
"I've heard they call you I.M.." he only nodded.
"Then after this week. I will call you I.M you will be a married man, and I have no interest in being someone's side piece. We never had to hide our love before, I won't do it now. I know my worth. As much as I love you. I will let you go." He just kissed me hard; he knew that would be my response. I grew up in this lifestyle, I knew better to show any weakness with a situation like this, marriage was a transaction in my family, but for me I wanted to potentially change the way my family approached marriage.
