Namjoon

The atmosphere of the neighborhood reminded me of the first time Haven, and I fell in love. I knew subconsciously she was reaching out to me telling me she was ready; she feared being hurt again, but she was ready, ready for what I could give her. I wanted to arrive early in the morning, walk into Haven and Dae eating breakfast, but my flight landed earlier than expected. I could see a trail of Daes toys and comic books leading me to his bedroom. I wasn't surprised to see Haven sleeping next to him, I was saddened by what I had seen, this poor boy was traumatized. Dae stood up on his bed, standing in front of his sleeping mother, pointing a toy gun at me, I watched Havens sleep deepen just from the smell of my cologne. Dae had realized that it was me jumping into my arms, I caught him instinctively keeping him close.

"Uncle Joonie." Dae whispered, excitement beaming from his sleepy eyes.

"Dae, you did a great job protecting you mother." I whispered, Dae smiled proudly, climbing out of my arms, covering himself up.

"I will take care of your mother now." I winked tucking him in, Dae smiled relieved that I was there for them both. How could Changkyun abandon something this beautiful? I bent stroking Havens cheek, she was perfect, perfect for me. I promised myself that this trip would change our lives. I cradled Haven in my arms carrying her to her bedroom, I tried to lay her down without me joining her, but she pulled me onto the bed with her, curling into my side. I wanted her to tell me she was ready for me, before I lay in the same bed as her. I made that night an exception, covering both of us up.

"Namjoon?" I smiled sleepily, keeping my eyes closed, I wanted to hear her voice.

"I'm sorry my son called you." I could feel her eyes on me, waiting for me to respond, I wanted to correct to tell her our son, because I loved Dae as if he was mine.

"I already told you; you weren't going anywhere without me." I didn't mean for my morning voice to distract her, but I did enjoy knowing I still turned her on.

"Your bedroom is next to Daes, I wanted him completely protected." I grinned, watching her look away from me, her cheeks turning into a soft pink.

The first few weeks flew by, the adventure didn't stop, watching Haven respond to Dae's excitement only made me want her more. Dae enjoyed the museums, hiking, sailing, but what he really enjoyed the most was being with his family, it didn't matter what we were doing he was happy to be with us. By giving Haven space, allowing her to grow comfortable with the new environment we naturally became close, just like before.

I didn't want her to notice immediately, I didn't want her to run away while I was climbing over that wall that she had placed in front of her heart. I started with moving her hair out of her face, kissing her head, giving her compliments. I never forgot any of our conversations, I would never let her feel like she wasn't a beautiful woman, I wanted her to know that I would always cherish her. Dae ran into the house playing with his new toy, leaving Haven behind to carry the groceries in the house. I was already on my way to help her when our neighbor walked over, offering to help. I seen Haven's eyes wonder, I watched his eyes wonder, he was a handsome man, but she was not his, she was mine.

"Need a hand, your helper seems to have run off." They both laughed, I continued to watch them to see if he would do something. I leaned against the tree, remaining close by, watching them talk. I knew she seen I was jealous; I wasn't hiding it.

"I've wanted to come over and ask you out on a date, but my timing is always terrible." Our neighbor laughed shyly; there it was what I was waiting for. I took the bag out of Havens hand, startling her.
