A month had passed since Changkyun and I's agreement, the transition of our relationship hadn't been the easiest, my heart was constantly battling with my head. I only allowed Changkyun to touch me that day in my office. I didn't want our relationship to build from something that was created in anger. Vanessa had managed to work her way into Jin's bed, she had accomplished becoming a mistress, just not Changkyuns. Jungkook and I were both ready to go back home, but the new territory needed someone to manage the property for a time, until I was able to reside here.
"Dad, I understand why you would want Taehyung and Joy to reside here, but he can't do it alone." Jungkook was on the same page as me, neither of us wanted Taehyung, and Joy to overwhelm themselves, especially with their first year of marriage.
"I think Shownu should stay back with them, he is a great leader, especially on the field." Karly poured more red wine into my glass; I tapped the table gently telling her to stop pouring.
"Haven, if you want a great leader, we could keep Namjoon here." My father challenged me.
"You will leave Namjoon out of whatever ideal you have, the last time I checked, Namjoon was mine, and is mine...just like this land. It's mine, if I say Shownu will stay back he will stay back." I didn't understand what had come over me, I had never spoken to my father this way.
"I agree with her, Namjoon is better off being close by, anyone of us could be called to take care of a competitor or a threat to what we are building. Leaving her other half here, weakens our families' strengths." Yoongi kissed my hand, keeping the tone of his voice neutral.
"Jin can stay here with them, if it eases your mind." Changkyun interjected.
"You are going to allow your fiancé to talk to her father this way, to allow her to disrespect me in front of everyone here." I didn't mean to make my father angry, but he had no say in this matter, his advice was what we needed, not his leadership.
"Respectfully Mr. Jeon Haven has always followed your orders, never hesitated in putting her life at risk for you, for her family. You and I both know that she did not ask you to take control, she wanted your guidance, you are in the wrong in this situation. This is her land, her territory, you should treat her not only as a daughter, but in the same respect you treat me, and any other business partners. This territory has the supply revenue that your territory needs, so you need her more than she needs you." Changkyun glanced over at Yoongi and I, aligning with us.
"I will stay back, I can manage the supplies better if I remain here for a while, we need everything in line when Haven does permanently reside here." Jin placed his hands on my shoulder, kissing my head.
"What about...?" I leaned back, staring up at him.
"She will be there when I come back, Vanessa will keep me company for the time being." My stomach twisted, at the thought of her in my future home.
"Jin you and Vanessa need to buy your own place, she will not step foot in this house." Namjoon didn't want Vanessa tainting anything else that was mine, she had already tainted Changkyun.
"I can find you a great relator." Karly grinned, combing her fingers through Yoongi's hair.
"Then it's settled, everything is worked out, we can head back home in a couple of weeks then yeah?" Jungkook stood up sounding hopeful. I watched the dining room clear, leaving Changkyun and I alone.
"Thank you, you didn't have to speak up for me." Changkyun bent down on his knees, taking my hands in his.
"Whatever it takes for you to feel that passionate about me again Haven, I only told your father the truth, I know this last month has been difficult, I thought you and Namjoon would have at least caved once, but you two have this bond, where it's not just about the physical intimacy, I want that too. I know I have a lot of work to do, but I just want you to know that I love you, and I am going to do everything I can to be the man you need me to be." Changkyun rose slowly, kissing my head.
After our meeting, my father left without telling me goodbye, I knew he would need time to process everything. Time began to pass by, Changkyun and I were spending more time together, taking me shopping, out on dates, I was finally able to let him in my heart, to trust him. Karly had convinced me to spend the night in his room, I wanted to surprise him, but when I pushed the door open all I could see was Vanessa, kissing him. My body tensed; did she really have that much power over men? How did she get into my house? I couldn't breathe, my heart had become numb. Changkyun pushed Vanessa off him, panicking. Jimin shook his head, calling Jin, I couldn't think, my body moved motionlessly. Jimin placed his gun in my hand, switching the safety off. "You know what we do with women like her." Jimin's lips trailed against my ear, aligning my aim.
"You should have stayed back, any last words?" Jin growled angrily behind me.
"Baby, please...I just wanted one more night with him..." She fell in love with my fiancé, this was more than a power move, this was her heart.
"I should have taken you out the first time I heard your name, but I had to be the bigger person and keep your heart beating." Changkyun stepped away from Vanessa, his eyes were cold, when his eyes landed on me, I shot her in her heart, with no hesitation, her body dropped on Changkyuns bedroom floor.
"Baby, it's not what it looked like, I was calling Jin to tell him she snuck in my room, when she kissed me." I wanted to believe him, but I couldn't not with his history, not with our history.
"You are dead to me; I will only be yours by name and name alone." I gave Jimin his gun back, taking Jin's car keys. Changkyun tried to go after me, but Namjoon stood in his way. Karly slid into the passenger side waiting for me to buckle my seatbelt.
