Chapter 15
Matt wasn't sure if he was dreaming or not. He was flying into the air. And he was at the mercy of the Demon Hounds, who were carrying him with their bodies. Eventually, they dropped him on top of a bush. Matt quickly tried to make his escape while Grelle appeared before him. He snapped his fingers and the sky went from dark blue to pure red in an instant. In fact, everything turned red.
"What you are seeing is a trick of my powers, young one. Grim Reapers like myself have the privilege to play mind games with humans. We are responsible for many tragedies in human history and we use our magic to lure people to their demise." said Grelle.
Matt wasn't sure if Grelle was thrilled to have him in his mercy or he was simply tired. Grelle's skeleton face remained the same throughout his monologue. Matt put up his fists, not sure what to do next. "What are you going to do? Kill me?" asked Matt.
Grelle pulled out his scythe and armed himself with it. "Yes. I was ordered to kill you. Forgive me child. I know your time in this world was brief, but believe me, I'm doing you a favor." said Grelle.
Matt slowly took a few steps back and then it dawned on him instantly where he was. He was in front of the apartment. The same one he came running from. Where Marcos lay dying.
"You know this place." said Grelle.
"No." said Matt.
"Yes. YES! This is the place where I took Marcos. I came here to collect him. It was I who took him away from you. Yes, he was shot by that loser of a man. But I was the one who finished off your brother. I couldn't believe it when I realized who you were. I saw you that night, while you cried rivers of tears on his person. Yes, your cries that night were sublime. Pure ecstasy!" said Grelle.
"Why now?! Why do you want to kill me?!" cried Matt.
"Viscount Bryan sent me to kill you. It appears you are dangerous to him." said Grelle.
Matt stood stunned. "What? The...the bad man who was in jail or something like that? Him? Why?! I didn't do anything to...." Matt was saying until Grelle interrupted him.
"You are dangerous to him and he is going to pay me handsomely for bringing you in cold! Once again, forgive me child. But you must exist no more!" cried Grelle.
He then was about to slice Matt in half when Bon-Bon appeared out of nowhere and attacked Grelle. "Not you again! Stay away you miserable deformed rabbit!" cried Grelle.
Bon-Bon then made a few odd noises that could have resembled a laugh and ran around Grelle, biting his legs and then crawling all over his person. Grelle started to freak out when Tyrone and Destiny arrived with Bubbles on top.
Tyrone got off first and ran towards Matt, hugging him then pulling him away from the fight and they ran straight to Bubbles. Destiny on the other hand quickly grabbed a branch and ran towards Grelle. In that moment, she struck Grelle on the face, hoping to poke his eyes out. Unfortunately, Destiny didn't know that Grelle was a skeleton. She she saw the pointy branch stick out and through the skull's eye's where an organic eye should be, she gasped and walked back in horror.
"Do you like what you see?! Do you like it bitch?! Do you like it?!" cried Grelle. Just then, his Demon Hounds arrived and surrounded everyone.
"There is nothing you fools can do! I have my hounds from hell surrounding you all! One wrong move, and they will maul you all alive! Not even your precious deformed rabbit will defend you now!" exclaimed Grelle.
"Son of a bitch!" cried Tyrone angrily. He was quickly thinking what to do. What can he do to save everyone? Bon-Bon realized he was outnumbered and kept a safe distance from the Demon Hounds, and Destiny and Matt were unarmed. He looked at the snow around him. And then, it started to snow once more. The sky turned white and more snow fell. And that was when it dawned on Tyrone. He went towards Bubbles, pulled out a small bag threw salt at Grelle.
He remembered he had salt leftover from home. And he threw it all on Grelle. It took a moment for the Grim Reaper to realize that his cloak started to ooze and started to look like oil. Grelle realized his cloak was melting and he took it all off. Grelle himself was now naked without his cloak. Of course, with no flesh and no organs whatsoever, he was just a skeleton that was somehow alive. The Demon Hounds all turned to Grelle and they licked their lips.
"Stop that. Stop it at once! What are you doing?! STOP!" cried Grelle. But it was no use. The Demon Hounds got close to Grelle and within seconds, they all started to rip him piece by piece. Grelle screamed as his bones were scattered and the Demon Hounds took a piece in their mouths. Everyone then noticed the lights on the apartments were starting to come on. The commotion woke up everyone in the neighborhood. Tyrone, Destiny, Matt and Bon-Bon made their escape upon Bubbles and he took off. All they heard afterward were the Demon Hounds disappearing into the darkness and Grelle was never heard from again.
