Chapter 11
The trio entered the Tillamook Cheese Factory and Matt inhaled the sweet aroma of milk up his nostrils. So did Tyrone and Destiny, who were enchanted by the smell. However, much to their surprise, the factory was empty. And there were no employees anywhere.
"Was it closed?" asked Tyrone.
"No, the doors were open. We got in just fine." said Destiny.
"This means... we got the place to ourselves!" cried Matt, bouncing up and down around the gift shop area.
"Don't touch anything Matt! We don't want to get in trouble!" cried Tyrone.
"Empty or not, this is the perfect chance we got for provisions." said Destiny.
"You got the money right?" asked Tyrone.
"Yes. I'll pay before we go. Don't worry about a thing." said Destiny.
"Matt! Let's get going and get something!" cried Tyrone. He headed over to the snack area with Destiny while she started to pack some cheeses in a basket. Tyrone browsed in the drinks and got some sodas. He handed them to Destiny and still there was no sign of Matt.
"Matt! Earth to Matt!" cried Tyrone.
Matt didn't come. Nor did he hear him. "Matt! Mateo! This isn't funny!" cried Tyrone. He decided to go find him while Destiny kept packing up snacks.
Tyrone went into the gift shop where Matt was and he was nowhere to be found. Suddenly, Tyrone felt a sinister chill behind his back. He looked around and heard voices.
"Kill. Tear apart. Kill!"
Tyrone laughed. Obviously, this was something out of Harry Potter and he knew Matt was playing a trick on him.
"Very funny Voldemort. Very funny. Let's go." said Tyrone.
Still, Matt didn't appear. And Tyrone was getting scared. He looked up the staircase that led to the second floor where guests would taste selected cheese. He decided to run upstairs and see if he could find Matt. And so he did. Unconscious and lying on the floor. And standing just a few feet away from him was a hooded figure. He looked straight at Tyrone with his horrible skeleton face. And then the demon hounds appeared.
"You!" cried Tyrone. He recognized this creep instantly as the one who attacked them back home.
"I am Grelle. A grim reaper. And Matt is coming with me." said the grim reaper soothingly. He wasn't intimidated by Tyrone.
In that instant, Tyrone ran up to him and punched him in the face. Or so he thought. Instead, he hit air and Grelle floated away, with his scythe at hand.
"Matt is dangerous to let live. And so are you." said Grelle. He then swung his scythe and tried to rip Tyrone apart. He jumped backward and fell on his back while Grelle carried Matt with an invisible force of one hand.
"This boy escaped me that night his brother died. Time for some unfinished business." said Grelle.
He was about to turn and leave when Tyrone quickly stood up and pulled Grelle to the ground. This time around, he was able to physically touch him and pull his robes down.
"Unhand me you muke!" cried Grelle.
Tyrone screamed for Destiny, hoping she would hear him. Grelle then pushed Tyrone against the wall with his powers. Matt was still floating in the air and Grelle realized he was running out of time.
"Devour him!" He ordered his demon hounds. They started to bark and they ran towards Matt's floating body. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a shining sword appeared and sliced the demon hounds to ribbons. Grelle turned and his jaw dropped the moment his hounds vanished into their darkness.
