Chapter 20
Tyrone, Matt and Destiny walked for a while in the snow. They found themselves at a place called the Snow Bunny. It was a popular Mt. Hood attraction for snow sledding. Matt looked at the hill and how he wished he could ice skee at least for a little bit. But Tyrone and Destiny looked very tired, and worn out. They entered the place and Bon-Bon came in, holding a small Bubbles in his paws. He walked up to the snack bar, grabbed a cup of water and put Bubbles inside so he can refresh.
"So what now?" asked Tyrone.
"We keep on moving. We still have to find your parents. Which by the way, you didn't tell me about them. What are they like?" asked Destiny.
"Sam and Natalie are amazing people. They are so loving and caring and Matt and I couldn't ask for better foster parents." said Tyrone.
"I miss Mom's cooking." said Matt, thinking of Natalie's golden waffles.
"I can't wait to meet them." said Destiny as she stretched her arms.
"You'll love them! Hey, maybe they could adopt you too!" said Tyrone.
"Me? I don't think so. Besides, I don't want to give your parents more trouble." said Destiny.
"Bon-Bon."
Everyone turned to Bon-Bon and he was pointing outside. Everyone turned to the window and saw a beam of light hitting the sky.
"What is that?" asked Destiny.
"I don't know." replied Tyrone.
"That would be your foster mother." said a deep voice.
Tyrone, Matt and Destiny jumped at the same time, and they turned to see a large black wolf standing there. Bon-Bon jumped from the snack bar and pulled out his sword and growled at the wolf.
"Who the heck are you?!" cried Matt.
The wolf snorted and wiped his nose with a large black paw with massive knife-like claws sticking out. His teeth were stained with blood and everyone could even smell his breath which reeked of wasted meat. His eyes were yellow and orange, and his fur was black as a raven's feathers.
"I am the Fiend. A servant of the Dark Impulse. The Eternal Winter curse itself is alive. It sent me to kill the Spring Sprite. However, there is a powerful light coming from the three of you, especially you two boys. Should I kill you three here now, the power of the Dark Impulse will grow much stronger and perhaps the Eternal Winter curse shall continue and the world would fall into a black abyss." said the wolf.
Bon-Bon barked and jumped into the air to attack the wolf. To his surprise, the wolf vanished and then he kicked Bon-Bon across the room with his paws.
Destiny quickly pulled out a chair and threw it at the wolf.
"Run you guys! Run!" cried Destiny.
Matt and Tyrone quickly ran outside as Destiny threw more chairs at the monster.
As the boys ran, Tyrone stopped.
"What are you doing?!" cried Matt.
"Destiny. She's in trouble. We can't leave her!" cried Tyrone.
"She told us to run! We have to run!" cried Matt, pulling Tyrone's arm.
"I know.. But... we can't just... no! I have to help her!" cried Tyrone.
"Tyrone, we need to run!" cried Matt.
"LET GO OF ME YOU FUCKING LITTLE BRAT!" shouted Tyrone. Matt gasped and he released Tyrone's arm. Tyrone angrily looked at Matt and ran back towards the building.
"What did you say to me?" quietly whispered Matt, who was taken aback and watched at Tyrone helped Destiny throw more chairs at the wolf.
The wolf itself ran around as Destiny and Tyrone realized they ran out of chairs and anything to throw at him.
"Is that the best you people can do? I'm so disappointed. Now, where is she? Where is the Spring Sprite?" asked the wolf.
"How should we know?! We just got here!" cried Tyrone.
"Lies. I heard your conversation as I walked in here. You are looking for her as well. Where is she?" asked the wolf.
"BON-BON!" cried Bon-Bon as he charged against the wolf. He then impaled him with his sword and stabbed him numerous times while screaming his own name.
"Ha! Haha!" The wolf laughed. He was laughing! "I'll have you know my mother was a demon like me! And you are such a bad mouthed little deformed bunny." sneered the wolf. There was no blood splattering on the floor, no fur flying in the air (except for Bon-Bon's). Instead, there was smoke and the smoke then evaporated into the air.
"You are not safe on this mountain. You all are hunted. And I'm going to attack. And I won't stop until I have mauled you all completely." said the voice of the wolf. After his monologue, he laughed, and his laughter echoed within the walls of the building.
Tyrone and Destiny walked up to each other's backs while Bon-Bon growled into the air.
"Bubbles still resting in the cup. If he became large, we'd get out of here in an instant." whispered Destiny.
Tyrone looked around and realized Matt was not with them. He looked outside and saw Matt sobbing.
"Matt! Don't move! Don't move!" cried Tyrone.
Matt looked up at Tyrone and that was when he realized what he had done. He screamed at him. He screamed and said something very horrible to Matt. Tyrone's stomach began to hurt and his heart began to beat very fast. And that was when he saw it. He saw the wolf's vengeful eyes from the forest behind Matt. He then ran out of the snow, almost in slow motion.
Tyrone then knew what he just did. He had just killed his sweet little brother. He had just killed Matt.
The wolf bit Matt on the leg, and pulled him into the woods. All that remained was Matt's blood on the snow. Tyrone screamed followed by Destiny falling to the ground, her eyes letting go a river of tears. Even Bon-Bon seemed to have gasped and he barked repeatedly in panic. Matt was gone.
