Chapter 21
The wolf arrived in a very gloomy and dark part of the forest. Matt opened his eyes, his leg bleeding but luckily, the wolf didn't seem to have bitten him hard. They arrived there in seconds, not minutes. Matt stood up and the Wolf was looking up at the sky.
"The Eternal Winter curse is winning. Your precious Spring Mother is losing the fight. For you see, there is another Dark Impulse user in this forest. The one they call The North Wind. Violet." said the wolf.
"W-what?" asked Matt, collecting himself.
"The Dark Impulse is a dark energy that appears to destroy lives. I use mine to maul people alive and there hasn't been a black hearted human I didn't consume who managed to make their escape in these woods. I have taken the privilege of mauling people who don't know their place. I don't care if you are from Rood Bridge Park or not. You will be in my jaws, before Violet arrives and puts you in one of her coffins." said the wolf.
"Why are you doing? Why are you so evil?" sobbed Matt.
"Dark Impulse users are agents of chaos! We thrive in chaos and we love it! We love to see the world lose so much! What makes you think there have already been two World Wars? Not to mention so many tragedies in human history that others have taken part of. I myself am just an agent and you will be the first human boy I get to kill in a hundred years! How I salivated for this moment! I cannot wait to hear your screams and your sobs! All of you belong to me!" said the wolf.
"You... you sicko! You freak." said Matt, still sobbing uncontrollably.
The wolf simply laughed and he was about to pounce on Matt. He was about to eat him alive when suddenly, his head got chopped off. Blood splatters all over the white snow and standing in front of Matt was a tall dark shadow.
A dark shadow with red eyes and wearing black armor.
"Uriel." said Matt, recognizing his savior.
The mothman simply nodded and put his sword away. "How did you know I was here?" asked Matt.
"A vision. I had a vision where you and Tyrone got separated." replied Uriel.
"Oh. So you saw what happened." said Matt.
"Yes. And I saw this thing here. Who would have thought that such vile creatures lived among humans." said Uriel.
"What now?" asked Matt.
"You need to rest. Right now, your mother is fighting against the dark impulse of the curse. And there is nothing left for you to do here." said Uriel.
"But..." Matt was saying.
"It's much too dangerous to continue. You were at death's door one too many times." replied Uriel.
Matt was about to say more when he heard a twig snap. He turned around and Uriel pointed his sword up into the air. Out of the woods popped a ferocious black bobcat with the same yellow and orange eyes as the wolf. Uriel quickly beheaded the bobcat and cursed.
"This mountain. It's already been heavily consumed by the Dark Impulse." said Uriel.
"What do you mean?" asked Matt nervously.
"Violet has made Mt. Hood her home. And this is where the Eternal Winter Curse should be destroyed. The Dark Impulse has summoned so many of its savage followers here to the mountain. We need to hide within these woods and avoid the shadows." said Uriel.
"So they are protecting the curse?" asked Matt.
"It seems like it. They don't want the curse to stop. They want it to continue." said Uriel.
"That's horrible." said Matt.
"Indeed. The Dark Impulse has no emotions. It only wishes to destroy, and nothing else." said Uriel.
"Where did the Dark Impulse come from?" asked Matt.
"A long time ago, a man named Cain killed his brother, Abel. The first murder in human history. That horrible act of violence spread like a virus as civilizations started to form. So says one account." said Uriel.
"A brother killed his own brother?" said Matt silently.
"Yes. Cain and Abel were brothers, like you and Tyrone. Only, Abel was said to be a good man with good morals. Cain on the other hand was bad, and he only cared for his own selfish desires. Just because they were brothers didn't mean there was unconditional love. Cain chose a very dark path and he used his hatred to kill his brother." said Uriel.
"Be very careful little one. Even a negative thought against a loved one can be considered Dark Impulse. As I mentioned before, it's a disease." continued Uriel.
"Tell that to Tyrone." said Matt, folding his arms.
"Care to tell me what has happened? Perhaps I can help." said Uriel.
"Well... it happened when the wolf attacked..." Matt said.
