Chapter 18

Gannon and Garret were sitting on a large couch as the bunny warriors surrounded them all.

"Please let us go! We are on a holy mission to stop the Eternal Winter curse!" cried Garret.

"Holy mission? More like road trip gone wrong!" cried Gannon.

"Don't! Don't you DARE go there with me!" cried Garret.

"Enough arguing." said an old gray bunny who appeared before them. He was holding a staff that was his cane and he was wearing a long brown cape with a necklace made of beads, and charms. He was also wearing a large beanie that covered his head, and his ears were all droopy.

"Long ago, Mt. Hood was a safe haven for all bunny kind and all animals big and small. Until not very long ago, humans created Mt. Hood as a resort and surprise surprise! We were all kicked out of our dominions and you humans have taken everything that belongs to all of us!" cried the gray bunny.

"You must be the elder! Elder Bugs Bunny?" asked Gannon. Garret gritted his teeth.

"Elder Wilkinson Jackalope!" he said aloud. He removed his beanie and revealed his deer like horns.

"Oh! You're a Jackalope!" cried Gannon.

"And you're from Rood Bridge Park." said Garret.

"I still am. But Mt. Hood is my home, along with my own village. Bunnies from all walks of life come here. Some of them escaped from pet stores! Some were abandoned in parks straight after Easter Sunday! And some escaped the wrath of the butcher shops to become rabbit stew! We may be tiny, but MIGHTY!" cried Elder Wilkinson.

"Is it just me, or is the tone of our adventure so out of tone? I feel like we started out as a hardcore action game, and we suddenly became a kiddie's game." said Gannon.

"I don't know. All we know is that we are about to die in the hands of these cute and evil looking bunnies." said Garret.

Elder Wilkinson was about to say more when he quickly spotted something in the air and urged everyone to hide in the trees. The bunny warriors did just that and pulled Gannon and Garret to hide with them.

"What gives?!" whispered Gannon fiercely.

"It's her! It's that witch!" cried Elder Wilkinson.

He pointed up into the air and sure enough, Gannon and Garret saw a purple smoke emerge from the clouds. And on it was a beautiful woman with long purple hair, wearing a very revealing outfit and floating close to the clouds were three children.

"Gannon! It's the woman!" whispered Garret.

"The one taking kids?! She's here?! Why?" asked Gannon.

"She has a secret lair somewhere in Mt. Hood. And she's been collecting children in large black coffins." replied Elder Wilkinson.

"Coffins?!" cried Gannon. Garret shushed him.

"Yes. Me and my warriors have tried to set the children free, but their coffins are imbued with Dark Impulse. We don't have the power to release them." Elder Wilkinson.

"Are they dead?" asked Gannon worriedly.

"No. They are breathing in the coffins. We hear them snoring! But they are caught in some powerful Dark Impulse curse, much like this Eternal Winter!" cried Elder Wilkinson.

"Dude, we are Sword Warriors. We work for Queen Imani. Let us go and we'll help you free the children!" said Gannon.

"Please. You come from Rood Bridge Park! It's a kingdom where diversity is king and freedom rings! Please, find it in your heart to let us go and we will help you!" said Garret.

"Elder Wilkinson, should we? They mean no harm." said one of the bunny soldiers.

Elder Wilkinson stood thinking and nodded. "You may be set free. But if you two insist on running away, you will be dealt with most severely." said Elder Wilkinson.

Gannon and Garret nodded and the bunnies let them loose. After the boys got up, they looked at the sky as Violet vanished, along with her victims.

"We need to group up and come up with a strategy to free the children." said Gannon.

"Our swords may do the trick." said Garret.

"Come to my village. We shall regroup there." said the Elder.
