Soft breaths trickled down, brushing deep the troubled beating of your throat. Destiny's chosen hero in your embrace and all you can think, dread, is walking out of these ruins. As tired and weary as you are, fighting and running had long become what you slipped into. Too easily. Problems and friction with close ones against a livininess of new, growing chances are overwhelming in the rolling disruption. To piece together everything and everyone into something... Something tangible. In reach.

"...should've...should've done things differently." Lloyd kept you here, sleeping away. Sleeping a sad dream it seemed with that mumble. You shrunk into yourself, seeing the worry lining his face. While you can only think about how right she was. Worse, saving her, when she struck too deeply in you what you wished was gone.

'...She's gone. There's no point. She haunts Lloyd enough, I don't need her ghost over me too.' You had enough of your own anyhow. "You fought a lot too, didn't you?" Unanswered, his breath brushed over your bobbing throat. "I hate that you would probably just start helping everyone if I woke you, huh?"

Suspended onto the skyline, the sun blazed over a swarm of clouds. Each passing by casted a shadow. Even with threats subdued the aftermath remained. Scattered destruction of the city put an on edge guard, a fear that if too loud it would awaken something. You could say that with the Overlord's take over-his last an anchoring remnant. Dispelling it required a beautiful thing of mind to heart. People are compelled to the edges of rest with the captivating souls of their saviors. One of them shone bright. Crimson scales twinned the sun, his panicked cry stifled when you waved Kai over to where you and Lloyd were.

"Are you guys okay?!" Bits of worry melted away for your body to unwind. The fire dragon of the once combined four went to Chime as Kai padded at the outskirts of rubble. Roused from rest, however short it was, Lloyd groaned. As soon as he heard Kai's relieved laugh, he pulled from you. "Huh, catch you napping away here? So how..." Kai saw the red irritating the pale greens, now hiding away under his hair. "Lloyd?"

"We should be looking for survivors." Lloyd started on this hill of concrete before you shook your head. "Oh...I guess everyone made it out then?"

You gave him an unsure nod. Your arrival did frighten most out of the building.

"Yeah, but, think you need a break, you've been leading all this, and you, y'know fought him- you must be exhausted." Kai paused, pulling his gaze right to you. He would've placed his hands near your injury, but they hover, hesitant and wavering, his voice firm, "You too! Your arm is bleeding, you need to be checked out!"

"I'll get it looked at. Anyway-"

"Anyway? C'mon, don't tell me you're going to be like-"

"Kai, you're one of the worst when it comes to getting..." Lloyd shouldn't have opened his mouth, Kai's focus swooping right back on him.

"Yeah? And what? You wanna finish that?"

"I don't need this," Lloyd paused looking around in his gi as he cast you a pained glance. "Kai, look at them-"

"Me? What about you?"

"Oh, you're not out of this either, you two, c'mon-"

"I'm okay!" Lloyd cried out, fishing out bandages, trying to unravel them neatly. Both you and Kai walked around on him, the guy none the wiser as Lloyd listed on; "We need to help with restoring order, distributing aid and medical attention, I need, we need to be helping peopl-" Close to suffering a fall, not looking where he was going, Kai gripped him by his wrist. "...not going to let me, are you?"
