I understand I am different
I know everybody isn't like me
that they don't feel the same way I do
and don't view things the way I see
they don't get anxious over a phone call
they don't choke on their words with a friend
they don't panic when things are too quiet
they don't react like I do in the end
I know I am different
but I never needed you to say it
like I'm some kind of outcast or stray
making me feel that there is no place I would fit
because when you called me different
that's when it seriously hurt
it translated to you don't belong anywhere
just go back to being a lonely introvert
